Chapter Seventeen

"Y/N. Can we talk?" a voice asked. I slowly turn around, looking at the sparkly eyes of his.

My hand that was reaching for the bottle of beer immediately dropped to my side as I nod towards Felix.

"Yeah" I told him shortly. He gave me a small smile before leading me towards the garden outside the dining place. We sat on bench, glancing up at the sky.

"I heard what he said about you in the washroom" he started. My head immediately drop to my fingers on my lap as soon as he let out the words.

"I'm sorry for bringing your hope up. I thought that he actually like you too but he's plainly just a jerk" Felix said as I let out a small chuckle.

"He is" I agreed painfully.

"I'm planning on moving on from him" I told Felix, looking at him with a weak smile. He looked surprise for a moment but he kept quiet.

I slowly avert my gaze away to look back at the sky but he made me turn to look at him again by holding both of my hands. I look at him in confusion.

"I like you" he muttered. My eyes widened as I look at him in shock.

Am I drunk already?

"I like you, Y/N. You have stolen my heart the moment I laid my eyes on you. When I found out we were a couple in the series, I got so happy that I could be with you, even if it's just an acting" he continued, looking straight into my eyes. I didn't know what to say so I just look at him in silence.

"On the day you told me about your friend's story, I tried my best to trust you and think of it as your friend's story but I found out that it was your own story. That broke my heart, to know that you already have someone in your own heart. I wanted you for myself, but I rather let you be with someone you love so I step back and let you move a few steps towards him" he continued once again.

"I want you to be happy with a man that you love, but it seems like he doesn't give you the love you deserve" he said as I look down, agreeing to him quietly.

Slowly, Felix placed his hand on my lower jaw, caressing my cheek softly with his thumb. I don't know if it's because of the alcohol but I melt from his touch. I closed my eyes, feeling the warmth of his skin.

"Let me love you, Y/N. I'll make sure to give you all the love you deserve" he said after a moment of silence. I crack my eyes open to look at his eyes that is full with hope, and sincerity.

I blinked, not knowing what to do.

"I'm not sure about that" I told him quietly as I slowly pull his hand away from my cheek. He reacted quickly, intertwining my hand with his instead. He placed his other hand on the top of out intertwined hand, caressing it softly.

"Please. I promise that I will take a good care of you. Please give me a chance" he pleaded. His eyes showed me how much he wanted to keep the promise. I looked down.

I still love Hyunjin, I don't want to use Felix the way Hyunjin used me.

"You can use me to ease the pain in your heart. I will help you" he said, as if he listened to me. My eyes shot to him as I look at him in shock.

"Felix.." I was speechless. He seemed so genuine with his feelings but I'm afraid that I would hurt him.

"I want to be with you, Y/N. That's how desperate I am" he said, trying to convince me.

It was silence as we both gazed into each other's eyes. Just like few seconds ago, a pure love could be seen through his eyes.

As minute passed by, he slowly lean in. I saw the sign and slowly close my eyes, giving in as I wait for his lips to touch mine.

"I'll cure your broken heart" was the last thing I heard before a pair of soft lips engulf mine.

The kiss was dull, yet sweet. Felix has pulled me closer to him by placing his hand on my lower jaw once again. I melt in the kiss, grabbing on his shirt, tight.

Without realising, a drop of tear fell down my cheek.

Maybe it's time to move on.

• Hyunjin's Point of View •

"What the hell is happening to you? You're basically using her at this point, do you even realise that?!" Han raised his voice at me, running his hand through his hair frustratedly.

"But I—" I started but Han cut me off.

"Stop" he said, shoving his palm on my face, stopping me from talking.

"Jeez, it's my birthday today. Don't get me stressed out by your stupid love life" Han said as he turned to look at his reflection in the mirror, fixing his hair to look decent.

"I actually thought you liked her at some point" Han mumbled as he turn to look at me.

"What? I'll never like anyone other than—" I started but he cut me off, again.

"I swear if you say her name again, I'm gonna kick your ass" he said with a heavy sigh.

"She cheated on you, Hyunjin. How can you still like her? That's just plainly stupid" he spat at me.

"Well, auch" I replied to him sarcastically as he sigh.

"Stop lying to yourself, Hyunjin. I know from a glance that you like Y/N" he said proudly. I frowned, looking at him in disbelief.

Me? Liking Y/N? Never. She's not even my type.

"Whatever it is, I hope that you realise it soon. You'll probably lose her if you're too late" he said with a grin before patting my shoulder and walk out of the washroom.

What the hell is wrong with this man?

I shrugged it off as I quickly get out of the washroom, greeting some people as I walk past them.

I went to talk with my friends to get my mind off Han's words but I can't seem to ignore it. I excused myself from the group as I went out to get some fresh air.

I let out a sigh of relief as soon as I take in the night breeze. It felt so calm.

I was stretching my body when my eyes caught something that I never know my heart would ache for.

Y/N and Felix, kissing under the night sky. It sounded simple and boring, yet I can feel a strange pain on my chest.

I felt the urge to pull them both apart. However, it was foolish of me to think that way so I quickly went back inside the dining place.

Are they together? No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get the image off my head.

Are there chances that what Han said is true? That.. I like her.

No. Never.
