Athena got out of the car as fast as they stood outside the main house to the mc. She was feeling embarrassed about what had happened the night before.m and she had a hard time looking at the tall man. Athena couldn't understand what came over her and hadn't been able to look the man in the eyes since she woke up topless. Gunner had seen this behavior and tried to tell her that she didn't do anything wrong. But even how much he said it, Athena couldn't believe it. She knew she wasn't experienced when it came to men, but when a man rejects a woman like he did, it doesn't feel good.

"Athena!" Gunner screamed after her, but she was already gone. Athen took long strides to the stairs and did not even say hi to any of the bikers she passed. The air smelt of egg and bacon and every biker she passed turned to see the blushing woman. Everyone looked after her like she had shot, someone. No one understood why she ran like she was chased by a murderer. It was only when Gunner came into the house they knew who she was running from.

"For god's sake, Athena, stop running!" He roared up the stairs. Athena didn't stop and locked herself in her room as fast as she could, feeling angry at herself. How could she lose control like that? What was she thinking? Of course, he would reject her.

It took a few minutes before a light knock was heard on the door. Athena sat with her blanket around her staring off in the distance so the high sound made her jump to reality.

"Go away, Gunner!" She screamed, thinking it was he who stood on the other side. Couldn't he just let her be embarrassed alone! Athena thought irritated.

"Honey, it's Vic," She heard a gentle voice say. Athena practically jumped up to run to the door and let her friend in. With a tight hug, Athena dragged her into her room.

"Nice to see you too," Vic said, feeling warm by her friend's greeting. Athena let her go after a few minutes of hugging, and Vic looked around her face.

"Gunner has been mumbling grumpier than usual, and you ran up here like you saw a ghost. What happened?" She asked Athena. Vic knew something was wrong with her friends, and it had taken a while to get out of the kitchen where Jeremiah had requested her help earlier.

"I don't know what to do Vic, promise not to tell anyone or laugh at me?" Athena said and looked down at her hands. Vic crossed her heart making Athena crack a smile before the worried look took over again.

"Last night, I kind of understood that I have been falling for him, so I pushed him away, but in the middle of the night, something came over me, and we started to kiss, and one thing leads to another," Athena started and waved around her hands, starting to work up a pulse only by thinking about the heat they were sharing.

"He took off my shirt and then... Stopped... He stopped and said crap like 'don't take this as a rejection, I just want it to be in a better place and blah blah blah," Athena said, making a bad impression of Gunner's dark voice. Feeling a wave of anger well up inside her again, it made her throw out with her hands. She hated feeling like this because of a man.
