Thalia's POV
"Annabeth!" I screamed. "Wake up!"
I was running around the tent packing up all our stuff. "Thalia!" Luke yelled from outside. "Hurry up and help me! I could use your shield to scare the monster!"
When I was finished packing all our stuff, I ran over to Annabeth and shook her. She was shivering like crazy. She was probably having a demigod nightmare. I was pretty sure she was a demigod and if that was the case we would have monsters on our tails for the rest of our life. I shook her again. "Annabeth, wake up!" Geez, she was a hard sleeper.
I picked her up and put her on my back, no time to explain anything to her when she finally woke up. "There you are! Hurry its really hungry!" Luke said as I walked out the tent. I set Annabeth on the ground. I didn't want her to get hurt while I was fighting.
I summed Aegis and took out my spear, then charged. Luke and I fought off the manticore that had been attacking us since 6:20 this morning. Meanwhile, Annabeth sat on the ground sound asleep.
When the manticore finally exploded into yellow dust, I put up my spear and shield and headed toward Annabeth. She was still shivering. "Nightmare?" Luke asked. I nodded, "Probably."
Once we woke up Annabeth, she refused to tell us about her dreams. It worried me. She could be having a dream about something that might happen soon. We were headed to a nearby WalMart to get food for the next few days and Luke decided to question Annabeth. Not about her dreams, but about her family.
"So, Annabeth," Luke started. "Do you know why, your family hates you?" Was he crazy? You don't just ask her if she knows why her family hates her!
"Uhh, not really but my dad isn't really the problem. Its mainly my step mom and step brothers." She lowered her voice. "I think they turned my dad against me." I could hear the sadness in her voice and could tell it hurt her to talk about this.
Luke glanced at me and whispered "So I'm assuming her godly parent is female." "Yeah," I agreed. "Probably."
"Well that narrows it down. Especially if its one of the twelve." "Yep, most of the twelve are maiden goddesses." I said.
Annabeth looked up at us. "The twelve what?" She asked. I guess she heard us. Annabeth continued to be curious. "The twelve apostles, twelve Caesars, the twelve labors of Hercules, the twel-" "No," Luke cut in. "None of those. But I promise we will tell you. But not right now okay?"
Geez, she was smart. How did she know what the twelve apostles were? I barley knew. But she knew about Hercules apparently. My half cousin.
"There's alot of things you have to tell me later." Annabeth pointed out. She had a point. "We'll explain everything." I promised. "Soon."
