Annabeth's POV

"So why did you wake me up so early?" I asked Thalia as I yawned. "Well if you want to kill a monster, you will need training. And lots of it." She said. "Hey!" "Sorry, but your seven. And, when we met you, you were using a hammer as a weapon."

"Its not my fault my family doesnt own 'Celestial Bronze'." "True," Thalia agreed. "So here's how this is going to work." And she explained everything.

•••

For the past three weeks I have been training. And let me tell you one thing, training like this is hard. I mean difficult. I've never worked so hard in my life.

We're heading North and every hill, tall tree, or even a snake we come across I have to train. I have to climb every hill big or small. I have to climb trees. I have to kill every snake, or bug that comes close to me. Luke says to have lighting quick reflexes, I should kill every mosquito, bug or fly that comes anywhere close to me.

Even though all this training is exhausting, I know it will pay off. And I can't wait till it does.

Thalia's POV

Being a twelve year old, being best friends with a fourteen year old, and training a seven year old, is not fun. I mean it doesn't sound like it is, but let me assure you that it most certainly ain't my "cup of tea."

The fact that my only friends right now are a fourteen and a seven year old, doesn't bother me. Being a child of Zeus doesn't faze me that much. Even traveling all over the Southeast doesnt really bother me that much.

What bothers me, is all of it together! I'm freaking training Annabeth to kill. Kill monsters. Am I crazy? Yeah, I'm starting to wonder!

I keep hoping that one day I'm just gonna wake up from this horrible nightmare...but nope! This is my real life. This is my reality. A reality where I am a half-blood. A half human, half god. And I'm only twelve!!!!!! Does that bother anyone else!? Guess not.

My life was so hectic even before I ran away and met Luke...

———Flashback———

"Come on Thalia, get Jason. We're going for a family vacation." my mom said. This is strange, I thought. Mom never takes us anywhere. But I got my two year old brother, Jason, and brought him to the car. Mom told us she was driving us to a park up north, near a wine country. There was a picnic basket in the passenger seat and mom was acting really nervous.

When we arrived, I held Jason's hand and lead him toward a big building in the middle of the park, while mom was walking a few steps behind us.

"Thalia, go back to the car and get the picnic basket." Mom said. "Okay." I didn't like the idea of leaving Jason alone with Mom, but I didn't have choice. I walked to the car and unlocked it with the keys Mom gave me. I picked up the basket a carried it back.

When I got back, Mom was kneeling on the stone steps of the building. I dropped the picnic basket and looked around for Jason. I didn't see him anywhere. "Mom, where's Jason?" I asked. Then, I realized she was hugging herself and crying.

"Jason's gone." she said as she started wiping away her tears "What do you mean he's gone!?" I asked in alarm. "Hera toke him, and claimed him. Jason is as good as dead." she responded. "What?" but my mother didn't respond. Has she finally lost her mind? I thought, What has she done to Jason? I searched everywhere for Jason, with no luck. It was as if he had just vanished.

After about 45 minutes, I had searched every inch of the park with not even a clue. I started crying and Mom had to drag me to the car, while I kicked and screamed for her to tell me where Jason was.

After losing Jason, I was completely hysterical. A few days after the incident, I called the police. I told them about how my mom used to be an actress when she had me, she didn't take the fame very well, and how she drank and did really stupid stunts. I told the police about Jason and how me and Mom were always fighting.

The police came and questioned her for a long time. When they left we fought for a while. She said I had betrayed her and that I should support her. That was the last straw. I ran away. And even when she died a few months ago, I didn't go back.

———-Flashback over——-

I hadn't told Luke or Annabeth about Jason yet. And I wasn't planning on it either.
