Audrey Horne, Babysitting Extraordinaire

Audrey picked me up from school in her car, as soon as we left school grounds, she lit a cigarette.

"I didn't know you smoke, sorry for being rude."

"No it's ok...I'm thinking about trying to quit anyway."

"Great. What do you wanna do first?"

"How about if we go to the diner for dinner, a cheeseburger, fries, and some cherry pie."

"That would be great Audrey!"

We arrived at the Double R Diner, as soon as we walked in, a girl Audrey's age with sort of a bob haircut ran to her and hugged her.

"Audrey it's good to see you!"

She let go and saw me.

"Who's this, your cousin or something?"

"This is Corinne, Agent Cooper's daughter, I'm babysitting for him."

"He's paying you right?"

"Of course he is Donna. I just brought her here for dinner. Cori, this is my friend Donna. Donna, Cori, Cori, Donna."

Donna started chuckling as we walked to a table.

"Nice to meet you Cori. Aren't you the cutest little thing, how old are you?"

"Nine."

"Nine? Wow..."

"I just picked her up from the elementary school," Audrey said.

Shelly walked to us.

"Hey girls...Cori what're you doing amongst these naughty ladies?"

Audrey, Donna, and Shelly laughed like the older teen girls they were.

"Audrey's babysitting while Daddy's working late," I replied.

"Aww that's so nice of you Audrey. Could I get you all anything?"

"A coke for me and Donna. Anything you want to drink Cori?"

"Coke."

Shelly left to get our cokes.

"So Cori...are you liking your new school?" Donna asked.

"Yeah, it's great, made friends in an instant."

"Wow...you must be a popular girl."

"Yeeaahh, but I don't care either way, Daddy says I shouldn't."

Shelly walked back to us with our cokes.

"Well, your daddy's a wise man."

"Wise, what did he say?" Shelly asked.

"That I shouldn't care about popularity."

"Well...now that I'm out of high school, I understand where he's coming from. You'd expect him to be wise, he's a lawman."

"And a handsome one at that," Audrey murmured.

They giggled.

"It's getting a little awkward for Cori, we're sorry Cori."

"It's ok, I think he's kinda handsome too."

"You girls ready to order food?" Shelly asked.

"Three burgers and fries," Audrey said.

Me and Donna nodded.

"Ok, it'll be ready in a bit."

Shelly left once again. I then noticed a jukebox across from us.

"A jukebox!" I exclamed.
