A young girl, Jamie, had just got out of school, ready for the summer.

She stopped by her dad's work place, which was a huge science lab. She walked in past the other scientists until she got to his lab.
"Hey, Dad," she greeted.
"Hi, honey. How was school?" he asked.
"Good. I aced my exams and I am ready for the summer," Jamie answered then wondered, "What about you? How was your day?"
"Good. We finally got our big project up and running and we just need a test subject," her dad, Dr. D, said.
"What's this project?" she asked.
"A portal to another world where you can become like the local," he told her.
"Whoa," Jamie breathed in awe.
She then thought about this being a really cool thing to do for the summer. Going to another world? And being the first to do it? How cool would that be?
"Jamie, I know what you're thinking and it's a no," Dr. D said.
"Why not? It would be the highlight of my summer. Besides, I am really smart and a black belt, so I can take care of myself," she pointed out.
"We don't know what world we could access. What if it's harmful to human life?" he said.
"If you guys are getting a human test subject, you would know it's not. And who else would be willing to do this?" Jamie asked.
"She does have a point," a voice sounded.
They turned around to see her dad's boss in the doorway.
"Professor Webber," Dr. D acknowledged.
"If we send in someone like us, they may not blend as easily. A normal teenage girl should be able to," his boss continued.
"Kyle, with all due respect--" Dr. D started.
"It's done. It's safe for her and she will still have her phone with her if she needs us. Meet us on that floor in five minutes," Kyle said before leaving.
Dr. D sighed before they made their way there.
"I can't believe my boss agreed with this," he said.
"I like him a lot more," she smirked, earning a small glare, then she continued, "Dad, you and I both know I'm not some defenseless girl who hides under the covers when she's afraid. I'm ready for whatever this is; I wish you were too."
He sighed and said, "We'll see if I am."
They made it and she prepared herself. They even provided a huge bag of clothes for her.
"Now text me at night about what's going on and only call if it's something you can't handle and we'll bring you back. And you can't let anyone know where you're really from," her dad instructed.
"Will do," Jamie saluted before they hugged.
"I love you," he said.
"I love you too," she returned.
They parted as a red portal then opened and she was given a backpack of different things she would need.
"Good luck, Jamie," Webber said.
She nodded and stepped in it before everything went black.

A/N Oh man! This is already crazy! By the way, I'm not actually a black belt and have relatively good grades. Also that first picture really is me from the summer between my junior and senior years of high school. Heaven help me. XD There will be more from that time too. Anyway, back to it.
