CELESTE SAT HERSELF ON THE MADRIGALS' DESERTED DINNER TABLE, STARING AT HER PALMS AS THOUGHTS GLIDED THROUGH HER HEAD. The girl had just finished the chore she had volunteered to do to help around the preparation for tonight's party, which was helping Julieta with the food preparation.

Besides, she knew that it was the only thing she can do to help around for the whole afternoon. Which was fortunately highly appreciated since she was able to lift the slight burden that Julieta had to carry just by cooking for the whole village.

Celeste's hands were exhausted from all the kitchen work, needless to say, her whole body was too. Of course, Julieta being a kind person she was had decided to let Celeste take a rest and clean herself for the time being before the gift ceremony even starts within less than an hour. At that simple thought that defined an act of kindness, a gentle smile managed to climb to the girl's face.

She pursed her lips together, having nothing to worry about as she relaxed her upper body and sighed. Celeste's mind were clogged with the feeling of longing as she remembered Julieta's kind and genuine words. "Take a rest, Corazon. You've already helped so much, don't overwork yourself further. Okay?"

The feeling of yearning for that kind of treatment and mother's love made her feel happy yet resentful over that kind of emotion. The mere thought of her own mother passed through her mind and the next thing she knew, she felt her heart aching from the simple acknowledgment that she no longer had one. She never even had one in the first place.

Celeste groaned, rubbing her forehead frantically. "Damn it, don't act so vulnerable." She murmured, trying to hush down her thoughts, shooing all of them away as she realized what she was thinking was just making her upset.

She scowled because of that and huffed, she looked over her shoulders and decided to ignore the thoughts as she directed her perspective onto the certain portrait behind her.

It was the familia Madrigal's pedigree, otherwise known as a family tree. Upon seeing the beautifully drawn family tree of the Madrigals, Celeste lowered her gaze and stood up, approaching to inspect the painting. Of course, from the corner of her eyes, she can't help but notice the familiar gap between the creaks of wood.

Fully knowing what or who was behind it, Celeste simply shrugged as she caressed the wooden painting where her eyes landed at the certain painting of Pedro Madrigal, the deceased husband of no other than Alma Madrigal.

A sad smile crept to her face as she gazed at the deceased family member, finding it saddening that the man himself also had an impact on her family, the Cleofe Family.

Vividly, she can still remember the bedtime stories her father had told her over the years of her childhood. Lumier has always defined Pedro Madrigal as a polished man in all the bedtime stories Celeste has ever heard of him, someone who was brave enough to risk his own life only to let his wife along with his children survive the cruelty of conquerors.
