'Morning Grady. Nate still asleep?' I said walking into Nathan's house not bothering to knock.

'Yeah go wake him up. Do whatever necessary.' He said with a wink and smirk. Boys, all they think about is sex.

I walked into Nathan's room and stood next to his bed. Boys always look so innocent and nice when they're sleeping. Then they wake up.

'Nate? NATE?' I said sing-songy attempting to wake him up.

'Elica. Don't tell me Grady let you in.' Nate complained turning over away from me.

'Yep and now you are getting up.' I said as I whipped the covers off him and my cold hand touched his back.

'No!' Nate screamed pulling my pillow over his head.

'Fine. No food for you then. Mum made pancakes but I'll have to eat yours.' I said getting up off my bed and walking towards the door slowly as though to tempt me.

'NO! My Pancakes!' he screamed jumping off the bed and running towards the door.

'God Nate.' I said shielding my eyes. 'Some clothes might be nice before you scare the whole of the District.' He looked down to see he was only wearing boxers. He grabbed a pair of shorts and a shirt and slipped them on.

'You can stare now.' he said to me. I removed my hands and smirked at him.

'You are such and idiot.' I said punching his arm.

We walked out together and sat down at the table. His Mum was making Pancakes in the kitchen and Grady was reading and started reading it myself. Grady whispered something to Nathan and he stormed into the dining room where I was sitting.

He sat down next to me and I didn’t move a muscle. I was used to him. Mum brought in four plates and the pancakes. She placed them on the table. Nathan went to grab one.

'NATHAN MATTHEW DENTEAL! DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH THOSE PANCAKES YET!' Mum screeched from the kitchen. He brought my hand back and placed it on his lap. I giggled rather girly.  He glanced over to me to see I was hiding behind the paper. He slapped my thigh and I l glared at him. He smirked at me just as Mum walked back through the door connecting the kitchen to the dining room.

'So for sides you have maple syrup, ice-cream, cream, strawberries, blueberries and icing sugar, take your pick. Ladies first boys, Elica?'

'No the boys may go first the will kill me if they don't get their food this instant.' I said placing down the paper. Grady scrambled to get the best food before me but unlucky for him Nate's always better.

Once we had all finished eating Nate's went and got dressed properly this time and we went for a walk.

'What did Grady say to you to get you so angry earlier?' I asked him.

'Nothing.' he said brushing off the subject.

'Nathan Matthew Denteal. I have been your best friend for years, twelve years to be precise. I know that it was nothing. What was it?'

'Elica Camryn Sarvel. Do not bring out the middle name card. Yes we have been best friends forever but it was nothing.' I grabbed my hand.

'It was something. I know it Nate. You can't hide everything from me. I will get it out of you eventually.' I whispered up against his ear my lips just touching it.

I held onto his hand as we walked along the river. I glanced over to the area of District Nine that was affected by the plague. Nate and I weren't affected because we had money for the cure sadly some of our friends did not. We continued down the river still holding hands when we saw the area that was affected by the fire, the old Victors Village.
