Meeting The Silk Twins (District Eight, Part One)

Lexi's POV

I awoke to crying for the third time this week. My little brother Cassio was crying again. Must have been a nappy change or he was in need of a feed. I walked into Mum and Dad's room to see them cuddling each other. I decided not to wake them and walked into Cassio's room to see Mimi, my twin already feeding him. How did I not notice her bed empty?

'Hey Mi, I was coming.'

'Hey, it was my day after all so I didn't think you'd wake up. You seemed to be really tired.  So I knew you would want to sleep. So I just hoped you wouldn't hear Cassio.'

'Well I did. Mum and Dad are still asleep so will you go and make breakfast and I will burp Cassio.'

'Sure.' Mimi my twin said and she walked out of the nursery. I held Cassio up over my back and he burped.

I went and brought him out to see breakfast already on the table. Sausage, eggs and bacon and some scrambled eggs for Cassio. He can eat soft solids now.

'Wow this looks amazing Mi, and smells amazing!' I said before putting Cassio down in his high chair. We ate breakfast and got changed out of our pyjamas before seeing if our parents we up. Dad was up and walking around and pacing the room.

'Dad what's wrong?' Mimi asked.

'Nothing I just haven't seen your brother he wasn't in his crib and…'

'Dad, You and Mum were asleep so we didn't wake you and got Cassio ready ourselves. He's in the living room now.'

'You scared me for a moment.'

'We're about to take him to child care and go and look at the shops before the reaping. Breakfast is still in the oven heating for youse.' I said.

'Thanks girls your Mum needs her sleep.'

We bid Dad farewell and left with Cassio to his child care and then went and joined up with our friends Josh and Alexis. We looked through all the shops until it was time to go home to get ready for the reaping. We were getting Cassio on our way to the reaping so we arrived home to see Mum and Dad just finishing getting dressed. I let Mimi have the first shower and I picked out our dresses. I chose our matching black dresses and red heels to match the sash around the waist on it. Mimi came out of the shower and I went in. I came out and got dressed. Mimi and I took turns doing each others hair. We came out into the kitchen to see Mum and Dad waiting for us.

'You really do look like twins. You are spitting images of each other.' Dad said complimenting us.

'Thanks Dad.' Mimi and I said in sync.

Dad, Mum, Mimi and I walked to Cassio's childcare and picked him up before proceeding to the square where the reaping would take place. Mum took Cassio off of me and Mimi and I went and signed in. She went first and a few people later I went.

'Didn't I already do you?' The peacekeeper snapped at me.

'Just scan my finger idiot.' I snapped back. She did so and I saw the shocked look on her face when she realised a was a twin. 'Yeah whose the idiot?' I said and walked off to find Mimi.

We stood together and waited for Cecielia, our mentor and Larni, our escort to come out onto the stage.

'Hey, look I know you don't want to be here so I'll go quickly. Girls are Mimi Silk and Lexi Silk.'

Mimi looked at me and grabbed my hand before leading me up on stage. Who would have thought that we would both get reaped.

'Awesome TWINS!!' Larni said sarcastically. She continued dissing twins while we waited for the boys to be drawn out.

YES IT IS UP BUT REALLY SHORT AGAIN!! I really just want to get to some more "Interesting" parts like HP's which should be up in two or three chapters depending on who stands out as "AWESOME I WANT TO WRITE THAT NOW!!!"
