••••••••• SERENITY WAS IN HER ROOM, BLASTING COUNTRY MUSIC AS SHE LAID DOWN ON HER BACK. Wasted on You by Morgan Wallen blaring in her speakers. She was no longer crying her eyes out. Which was goodish. Now she was just going through the motions like a backseat driver. She hated feelings. She hated this feeling of loss.
Through the loud guitar instrumental she heard a loud knock. A knock she chose to ignore and just to turn the stereo on. Before she knew it, the door was slammed open and her stereo was broken.
Serenity shot up and furrowed her eyebrows. "What the hell?"
"First, language. Second, you can sulk in here, you can become numb and sulk outside your door, what you will not do is torture the students of this school with country music." Bonnie told her. "You're driving your aunt crazy. She's this close to strangling Kai and you."
"Well then I think it should be played a little bit louder." She said reaching for the stereo.
Bonnie stepped in front of her daughter and raised her eyebrow. "I was born in the south and country music was all that played in school. And listening to it on repeat is literally killing me."
"maybe it will kill me." She said sarcastically.
Bonnie sighed and sat on her bed. "Look I have dated many horrible men before I met Damon. I have been cheated on, kidnapped, and even almost killed by many men."
"Don't you have the worse luck with men..."
"I do, but the point is heart break is temporary and if you lay around weeping listening to the devil's favorite genre of music well then he wins. And you want to be the one to win the break up. So get up and go pick out a dress for the prom." She said dragging her niece up into her arms. Serenity hugged her mother before beginning to break down.
"It just hurts so bad." She sobbed.
"I know sweetie, and as much as I would love to kill him, I can't." She told him.
"Why not?"
"Because... Its not right." She lied. She didn't want to be the one to tell her why she couldn't. It would ruin everything. She honestly didn't believe that Kai would do that and when she did try to kill him, he sounded sincere about not knowing about it. She honestly thought Ridley was more responsible than him.
"Fine. Worth a shot right?"
"Yeah it was. Anyway, me and Hope were thinking of going to search for a prom dress. Theme is Masquerade. Wanna come?"
She chuckled. "Lizzie ended up picking the most basic of themes."
"She didn't have a choice when Iris started to get irritated and almost turned her into a heretic" She told her. "Still want to come?"
