We walked through the woods with bugs everywhere. It was quite a warm day so I really didn't want to go on a walk. "Whose idea was this, again?" Hanna asked. "Emily's mom." Spencer answered. "The shed was me. My mom just said we should do something for us." Emily tells us. "Well, couldn't we do something without mosquitoes?" Hanna complains. "They're not mosquitoes; they're gnats." Aria corrects her. "Whatever! They're small and annoying, and they're flying up my nose." Hanna says. "Well, they're attracted to your perfume and your hair product and your lip gloss." Spencer informs her. "What are you saying, I attract flies?" Hanna says sarcastically. "Gnats." Aria corrects for a second time. I step over the muddy patches in the path and almost fall flat on my face. "Uh! I hate walking." I say to Spencer. "I love nature. It's so interesting." Spencer tells me. "Why do I feel like this is the wrong way?" Emily asks. "No, this is it. I remember that tree." I say. "It's the halfway point. There's 136 steps left to the shed." Spencer continued. "Have you guys been out here since... Alison?" Emily questions me and Spencer. "Us? No. No way." I answer for both of us, looking at Spencer. "But you remember that tree." Aria states pointing at the tree. "You guys, it's not that weird. I mean, we came out here in eighth grade, like every day— even after." Hanna says backing me and Spence up. "I think this is the totally the wrong place to do this whatever you call it— shrine." Spencer says. "It's not a shrine. It's just a place to remember Alison. What's wrong with that?" Emily answers abruptly. "Doing it way out here makes it look like we have something to hide." I reply. "You're worried what other people think?" Emily asks. "Well, aren't you? Do you really want to give that creepy detective more reason to question us?" I ask her. Everyone stands in silence. Then Hanna started walking away. "Hanna, why are you so quiet?" Aria questions her. "I'm trying to keep the bugs in my nose and out of my mouth." Hanna tells us. "You're allowed to have an opinion on this." Emily says. "You want my opinion? I say we hold off and not remember her till we know she's not still here." Hanna says. "What?" "What are you talking about?" The other girls question. "You think she's still alive?" Emily asks. "Hanna they found her body." Spencer tells her. "Stop I'm officially scared. Can we just not—." Aria says. "You askEd for my opinion. I don't believe she's really gone." Hanna tells us. "Guys Hanna has a point. How do we know that was Ali's body. It's probably decomposed by now. For all we know someone could have just planted bones in the wall." I say in a disgusted voice. "We went to her funeral!" Spencer exclaims. "Yeah and when we left we all got a text from her." Hanna says. "It wasn't her. Someone is messing with us." Emily says. "How can you be sure?" I say to the girls. "And what about all those nasty messages? I mean, how does this "A" person know stuff only Ali knew?" Hanna asked. "Okay, this conversation is giving me a hive." Aria tells us. "That's a bite. Mosquito." Hanna says sarcastically. "Spencer, have you got any more messages?" Emily asks Spencer. "Haven't you?" She replies. We hear a rustle in a nearby bush. "What was that?" I ask nervously. "Did you hear that?" Emily asked. "Yes I  heard that. I'm standing right next to you." Aria tells Em. "Hello? Is anybody out there?" Hanna calls out. "It's probably a rabbit." Spencer says. "Hello?" Hanna calls again. "It's a rabbit, Hanna. It's not gonna answer you." I tell her. "Can we just get to the shed?" Emily asks. We hear a louder rustling and a twig snapping. "Okay that is definitely not a rabbit. Someone's out there." Hanna says whilst clutching her purse. "Let's turn around." Emily suggests. We turn to leave when we all get a message. I pull out my phone and surprise surprise it's from A.

Melissa, our mom and I are all in the kitchen. Our mom is writing some appointments on the calendar and marking today off. "You can't avoid seeing people sweetie. It is what it is." She tells Melissa. "And what's that— sad, humiliating, pathetic? All of the above? Just... take someone else. I don't want to have to explain a wedding that's never gonna happen to every last club member." Melissa says while she looks at something on her laptop. They were talking about Melissa and Wren's wedding which was now not gonna happen. I don't know what happened but I just saw him leaving with his things in a cardboard box one morning and then we never saw him or spoke of him again. I could Melissa was upset. "Morning." Spencer said as she walks into the kitchen. "Hey." Mom answers. Melissa then picks up her things and walks past Spencer "Excuse me." She opens the bin and throws away all her wedding magazines dramatically. "Where's dad?" Spencer asks moving away from Melissa . Melissa closes the bin and walks back to her chair barging past Spencer. I don't know what's going on between them but Melissa seems mad. "He left for the office." Our mom answered Spencer's question. "Already? So he ran without me? Why didn't he just knock on my door?" Spencer questions. "He was busy. He was helping Melissa dispose of some things that... Wren left behind." Mom explains. That was the first time I'd heard his name is ages. Melissa looked like she was going to explode. "Unfortunately, you weren't one of them." Melissa says to Spencer angrily. "How many times am I going to have to say it?" Spencer says walking closer to Melissa. "Oh, girls, please! I can't arbitrate on one cup of coffee and look at the example you're both setting for your younger sister." Mom says smiling at me then doing things around the kitchen. "Who's calling the paper to pull the announcement? It was hard enough changing my status on Facebook!" Melissa says. "I'll take care of the newspaper." Mom assures her. "What about the engagement dinner? Do I have to make that call?" Melissa asks. "No, honey, of course not. Just look up the number and I'll leave a message." Mom tells her. Melissa was really stressed about everything maybe she need to chill. Spencer grabs her breakfast and starts to leave the kitchen. "Where are you going?" Mom asks. "I'll eat in my bedroom." Spencer tells her. "Oh, no, you won't. I just dry-cleaned your bedspread. Sit at the table." Mom tells her pointing her to the empty chair by me. "I don't think I'm welcome." Spencer says. "That's never stopped you before." Melissa said. "I did not invite your fiancé to kiss me, Melissa, for the last time! He mad the move on me!" Spencer explains. So that's why Melissa is upset with Spencer. "Spencer, please." Mom says. "And you just sat there like a throw pillow with your tongue down his throat!" Melissa bursts out. "Look, I get it! You're upset and I feel for you, but don't dump it all on me. Maybe you should be asking yourself why Wren felt the need to—," Spencer started. Spencer didn't finish her sentence because she knew she would be in deep trouble from mom's look on her face. "I'm sorry. Ok, I'm not perfect. But I don't want to be accused of something I didn't do!" Spencer exclaims. "Oh, stop, please, both of you! Go get dressed for school. You can take your muffin to go." Mom tells Spencer. Spencer throws her muffin away then walks upstairs to get ready. I stare blankly in shock at how mad my two older sisters are at each other. "You should go get ready too sweetie." Mom tells me. "Alright." I say as I put my plate away and go get ready.
