Me, Emily, Spencer and Hanna stood at Arias front door. I knocked and Mr Montgomery opened the door. "Hey is Aria here?" I ask him. "Yeah she's upstairs in her room." He replies moving aside to let us in. We all go upstairs and we walk past Mike's room. "Hey Mike." I say standing in his doorway. "Hey Ev." He smiles at me. I walk to Aria's room with the rest of the girls. Aria is lead on her bed with her headphones in looking sorry for herself. Spencer walks over to her and takes out her earphones. "Hey, what are you doing?" Aria asks. "An intervention." Spencer tells her. "We brought takeout and rag mags." Emily tells her throwing a stack of magazines on her bed. "But you cannot have any of those until you get out of these sweats." Hanna tells her. "What's wrong with these?" Aria asks. "Nothing... except they're starting to graft to your skin." I tell her. "Well, they're comfy." Aria says. "So are mom jeans and platform flip-flops. Plus, how are we gonna help you choose a homecoming dress if you don't try some on for us?" Hanna tells her. "That's easy. I'm not going." Aria says. "What do you mean you're not going?" I question. "You can't just not go." Spencer says. "What are you doing instead?" Emily asks. "I don't know. I guess I'll just read these magazines and then inhale a gallon of chunky monkey." Aria tells us. "Hey, look, cutting yourself off from the rest of your life is not gonna help your parents." Spencer said. "And besides, they still might work it out." I assure aria. "They're barely speaking to each other." Aria says. "People get angry. They blow up. Doesn't mean it's over." Emily tells her. "Emily, they didn't blow up over her dad missing their anniversary. He slept with one of his students." Hanna says. She looks at aria. "Sorry." "I'm just saying things can look over on Friday, and by Monday all is forgiven. Some things just take time." Emily continues. "Yeah, maybe." Aria says sadly. "Okay, so you're coming! Come on!" Spencer exclaims excitedly grabbing Aria's hands. "I'll think about it." Aria says. "If you're not coming, can you at least cast an absentee ballot?" Hanna asks her. We all look at her. "What? I need her vote." Hanna tells us. "Hanna, stop already! You've got homecoming queen locked down." Spencer tells Hanna. "Really? You can rig the election?" Hanna questions. "Sorry, I have enough to do already, thanks. I'm head of the committee, half of which is out sick with the flu, so I'll be restocking the ice and refilling the hummus bowl... and trying to look cute. For my first official date." Spencer says. "With Alex." I tease. "Wait, you're bringing him to homecoming? So, this is real!" Aria asks. Spencer rolls her eyes and her cheeks start to turn pink. "Look at her blush!" Hanna laughs. "Stop!" Spencer says giggling. "Damn! Now I have to come." Aria said. "Seriously, you guys, he's not gonna know anybody there, so can you just do your best to make him feel included?" Spencer asks us. "No, we were planning on freezing him out." Hanna jokes. "All right, moving on." Spencer says changing the subject. "Em, who are you gonna bring?" I ask. "I think I'm gonna go stag." Emily tells us. "I will, too." Aria says. "Why don't you guys come together?" Spencer suggests. "Oh, you'd make such a cute couple." I joke. "How did I just go from wearing mom jeans to being Samantha Ronson?" Aria questions. We all chuckle slightly. "Who cares who anyone goes to this thing with? I mean, it's just a dance. You should bring someone who you have fun with." Hanna says smiling at Em. "I might want to go with someone. I just don't want people thinking it means more than it does." Emily tells us. "Are you and Ben back together?" Spencer asks. "No. No, of course not." Emily assures us. "So... who's the mystery dude?" Aria asks. "I'm starving." Hanna says as she grabs the bag of fortune cookies. "So, ev, what's your plan without us?" Spencer asks. "Well, I might just study for my English test." I tell her. "Or... Mike's not doing anything." Aria tells me. "Ooo. You can hang out with your boyfriend." Spencer teases. "I'll talk to him." I say. "Guys..." Hanna says holding her fortune. "What's wrong? Bad fortune?" Emily asks. "Yeah, Confucius says stop being such a drama queen." Spencer says. "Lions and Tigers and bitches, oh my! There's no place like homecoming. See you there. 'A'." Hanna reads. Spencer takes the bag of fortune cookies and starts opens another. And another. Eventually opening all of them. They're all the exact same.
Later on, I text Mike.

𝚂𝚞𝚛𝚎, 𝚜𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚍𝚜 𝚐𝚘𝚘𝚍.The next evening, me and Mike meet in the grill. "Hey, how you doing?" I asked Mike as we sat down at a table. "Umm... I'm not sure how to feel. With my parents and stuff." Mike tells me. I smile at him sadly. I felt so bad for Mike. His whole world has just been ripped apart just because of A's stupid games. "How about we order. What do you want?" I asked breaking the awkward silence. "I'll have a black coffee, thanks." Mike says. I went and ordered for us and then went to sit back down. "I hope the girls are enjoying homecoming." I say smiling. "Can you believe it? Next year, that'll be us." Mike tells me. "I know. It's strange to think it." I said. This conversation was a bit awkward. But then we started joking and laughing like old times. We got our drinks and we sat and drank them together. It was really nice, I almost forgot about all the drama going on till I got a text.

I looked at Mike and smiled. "Umm. Mike I need to go." I tell him. "Ok. I better get home too." Mike says. We stand up and leave. "Alright, bye Mike." I say hugging him. "Bye, ev." He says hugging me back. Then we went our separate ways. I got home and showered. Then I went to bed.
