Kohaku was in constant state of depression.
No matter what Kohaku saw or did she didn't feel happy, sure Kohaku smiled every time her dad showed some new decoration for her 'wedding' but she was anything but happy on the inside.
Can you blame her?
Not only was she rejected but she was going to marry a man she despised.
No one would feel happy in her situation.
Kohaku mustered up a smile for the hundredth time that day as her dad asked how the flowers looked.
At least her 'smile' was on point.
They were currently at the best flower shop in town picking out the prettiest flowers for Kohaku to hold for the day she walked down the aisle.
Kohaku hated it, she hated it so much.
"These will surely look great with your wedding dress" Kokuyo said placing the flowers in Kohaku's hand, he looked at his daughter as if he was trying to imagine how Kohaku would look with them in her hands on her 'special' day.
"Yes father" Kohaku said in the happiest tone she could muster.
The stupid part was that her dad insisted they do the shopping together instead of having the maids do it for them.
That made Kohaku's blood boil.
But she remained calm for Ruri's sake.
"We will take them" Her father said giving the shop lady the beautiful flowers before both of them stepped out of the store the guards already waiting outside to escort them.
"We'll head back to the castle for lunch" Kokuyou said smiling nicely.
Kohaku couldn't return his smile and only nodded I'm response.
The ride to the castle was full of Kohaku's dad talking about the plans he had for the wedding and all the ideas he had for the decorations.
And Kohaku tried her best to seem interested.

As soon as they arrived Kohaku made an easy excuse to go to her room and quickly left.
Kohaku opened her door and collapsed on her bed letting out a satisfying sigh in the fabric. Wishing she could stay there forever. Wishing all this would stop, wishing she didn't have to marry someone she didn't love...
Rolling onto her back she stared at the ceiling somewhat deep in thought that is until a certain scientist flashed in her mind.
Kohaku quickly sat up face flushed from embarrassment.
Why did he just have to past her mind of all people?
Why did she have to feel her stomach knot just at the sound of his name? Or just by imagining his face?
Kohaku didn't understand why but she hated it, sitting up she stared off into the distance, these feelings for Senku have to go because it doesn't matter how much she wanted him. . . . she couldn't have him.
Kohaku felt that all to familiar pain all over again like a freshly cut wound.
Tears started to well up in her eyes.
