Vivianna POV

Paperwork was something that never seemed to end here. I did not typically mind, and this week I was grateful to keep my mind off of Theo and having to wait for Garrett and Victor. I got up to lazily stretch, I felt a pleasant pop and moaned accordingly. A low growl came from behind me, my handsome mate eyed me darkly. I smiled innocently, "Are you here to brief me, Alpha?" I mocked formality. He half-smiled, it lit his entire face up. I tilted my head trying to get a better view. He immediately retrieved his stoic demeanor. "Yes" he said evenly. I went and sat at my desk, "Please, have a seat" I offered, gesturing to the seat across from me. He slowly took it, as if he was unsure he even wanted to stay near me. "What can I do for you and the pack, Theo?" I questioned. He stared at me a moment, almost as if he was pleading? or apologizing? with his eyes. It was fleeting and he immediately launched into detail the ways I could assist him and the pack. I nodded, taking notes, it was not much different than what I did for Seb... In fact it was the exact same. He finished and I laughed a little. He eyed me questioningly, "You and Seb may be at odds right now, but you are definitely brothers. I have the same set of responsibilities from him." I informed him. He grunted as a response, but made no effort to move from his seat. "I don't like being the reason you guys are fighting" I said gently, reaching and grabbing his outstretched hand. He let me take it, eyeing it like he was trying to will the sparks away. "Please, can you reconcile" I asked sweetly. "I do not think it is that simple, Vivianna. I took his Luna, and insult to injury, I do not want her" He said, making eye contact on the last part, removing his hand from mine. I gave a small smile and nodded, "Just a thought, tension between you two benefits no one" I pressed. He got up, "Theo?" I asked. He turned to face me, his eyes burning with repressed passion. "Am I really so bad? You cannot fathom me as your Luna?" I asked, maintaining eye contact. He did not have an opportunity to answer me, a she wolf wildly opened my office door. He immediately looked guilty, but it was momentary. "Alpha, baby, Liam said you were in... here" the tall, red headed, brown eyed girl said. She was pale and was not particularly impressive, but her muscular frame indicated a good warrior. I penetrated her mind, she was a fuck buddy of the Alpha, hoping for the Luna title-- as many have. Theo used her as stress relief, but she chose to believe it was far more than that. It still stung that he was with other women so freely, and knowing he could no longer get it up for anyone but me did little to comfort me. I wanted his chosen loyalty, not his forced. Theo was strong, I could not penetrate his mind-- I would only be able to in an injured or vulnerable state. Sebastian was like that too. "Yes, Samara, what is it you need?" Theo questioned, he sounded tense, but I could tell he was trying to sound attentive. He was putting on a show. "I am Vivianna, Sebastian and Theo's step-in Luna" I said confidently, offering her my hand. She tentatively took it, eyeing Theo. "I didn't think you wanted a Luna, babe" she said shakily. "I don't" Theo said evenly, clearly not liking being questioned. "I was just briefed on the administrative duties, is there anything I can help you with?" I asked, letting my title seep through and wrap me like a blanket, a neat trick I developed to enhance my aura of power. She cowered, "No thank you, Luna" she submitted. "Oh please, you are with Theo, call me Vivianna" I smiled. I could tell she was perplexed I used his name and not title. Theo looked at me incredulously, an Alpha could have never pulled off the performance I currently was. I wanted to ring her fucking neck, but that was the reaction Theo wanted. If he was going to be with me, to earn me, he needed to know it was not because I was desperate for him. "Oh wow, thank you Luna!!" she beamed, I nearly laughed as she lost all of her bearing. Samara slinked over to Theo and wrapped her arms around his neck. He ever so slightly shuddered at her touch. I stifled a laugh. "I missed you" she pouted. Theo apprehensively, then immediately wrapped his arms around her, looking at me before giving her a kiss on the lips. It stung, it felt like my heart was getting ripped out. I knew he was just trying to hurt me. I walked out calmly, I could feel my control leaving me and it was no longer safe for them if I was there. I practiced the breathing sequence Garrett and Victor taught me when I began to lose control. I transported to Sebastian. He looked up at me, completely unaware of how broken I felt, and smiled at me brightly. I pulled my chair next to him without a word and laid my head on his shoulder. We stayed this way for a while. "Is everything okay, love?" He asked. I sighed, I was not used to not being able to tell him about something that was bothering me. "Just feeling overwhelmed" I answered honestly. "Why don't we go for a run? That always makes you feel better" he offered. "Human form?" I asked. "Ugh, I suppose. Only for you" he responded. I smiled, wishing for more times than I should have that he was my mate. I reluctantly got up and went to my room. I changed into a black sports bra and black spandex. I braided my bangs and put my long hair into a tight ponytail. I looked in the mirror, I was no longer the little girl that Garrett and Victor had found, I was stronger, thanks to them. I needed to maintain control for them, Theo was not worth losing everything they helped me to build. I grabbed my headphones and was so deep in thought about my upcoming familial visit that I literally ran into Theo. He sent electric tingles to my waist as his bare hands touched me to ensure I did not fall. "Vivianna" he muttered huskily. He eyed me appreciatively, lustfully. Knowing it was all lust snapped me out of the appreciation I had for the way his hands felt on me. "Where's Samara" I asked, looking behind him to see that he was indeed alone. "Oh uh, she had, um, training" he lied, not so smoothly. "Perhaps I can meet her on the training grounds then" I offered. "No" he said immediately. I looked at him and he sighed. "I am gonna go on a run, I will see you around Theo" I said softly, gently pushing on his incredibly hard stomach to nudge him out of my way. He looked hurt, as if he was not the one kissing another woman right in front of me a mere hour ago. "I could use a run, my wolf has been... agitated" he murmured, refusing to move, but relishing the feeling only my touch could give. I would be lying if I said I did not worship the way he felt, but I was stubborn, maybe to a fault. "It will be in human form, I am most comfortable like this" I responded. He looked me over again, "You are wearing that to run by yourself?" He questioned, fighting his protective and dominating side. "I never said I was alone, that was a conclusion you drew yourself" I responded, sort of loving getting to toy with him. He grumbled, "Who is going with you?" I tilted my head, "MY Alpha is, he loves taking care of his Luna" I said, not breaking eye contact. He was seething, "another male will NOT see what is mine dressed in this state" he garbled out, his eyes were pitch black, his beast was close to the surface. I needed to calm him or I would have an issue. I took a deep breath and I rubbed up his stomach and chest, trying to not be consumed by the pleasant tingles, until I reached his face. I tangled my hands in his hair like I have been wanting to since I met him and scratched his head. He looked down at me, softening entirely and giving me an approving moan, he placed a gentle hand on my cheek, thumbing my lip, making his want to kiss me rather obvious. "Alphaaaaaaaaaa" Samara screeched, rounding the hall. I immediately broke contact, earning a dissatisfied growl from Theo. "Gonna go on that run, looks like you have someone to keep you company" I pointed out. He looked at me sadly, like he was going to say something. I transported to Sebastian before I did something stupid, like told him how much it bothered me seeing him with Samara. Sebastian was waiting readily, "There you are, love" he said cheerily. "Here I am" I said, mustering enthusiasm. I cannot let Theo ruin my mood. I stretched, pushing my flexibility limits. I felt eyes on me, but ignored them. I could sense who they belonged to, including the very lusty thoughts that accompanied them. "Luna!! Alpha Theo wanted to join you and Alpha Sebastian for your run!" Samara chirped happily. I sighed. Can't he just leave me alone for a minute? "Aren't you.. flexible" Theo groaned huskily in my ear after I stood up straight. It sent an actual shiver down my spine. "Mind your hormones, Theo, your girlfriend is right there" I whispered. He grunted, as if he caught himself. "Seb" I called, he gave me his attention eagerly. "Ready" I puppy dog eyed. He was going to give me a piggyback ride to the start. It was our little tradition, it was symbolic that I promised to always have his back, even if I was on it. Sebastian was practically giddy as he clamored over to me. I hopped on easily, as I had done a thousand times. Theo growled, I glared at him. I kissed Seb on the cheek like I always did, this seemed to push Theo over the edge and instead of the too handsome for his own good man that stood in front of me, there was a massive, pitch black wolf. "Alpha, what the hell?" Samara screeched, she was decently close to him when he phased. He growled and snapped his teeth at her. She bared her neck in instant submission. I climbed off Sebastian's back and approached Theo. "Why the fuck are you getting close to my man?" Samara barked. "By all means, calm him then" I retorted. "Fuck you 'Luna' ever since you have come here everything has been ruined with Alpha and I" she screamed. Theo's wolf turned his murderous glare to Samara and stealthily walked towards his prey. "Al-Alpha" she stuttered. "Theo" I coaxed. He snapped his head to my direction while she tucked tail and ran away. "Do you want me to shift?" I asked. The wolf nodded its head. "Seb, wanna shift with us?" I asked? He looked torn, "No, Viv, I think it is best if I finish up some paperwork. Please find me after" he half-heartedly begged as he quickly turned away before he could change his mind. I smiled and transformed into my pure white wolf, earning a wolfy grin from Theo. After Sebastian left view I trotted over to an eagerly awaiting Theo. I nuzzled my head into the crook of his neck, mesmerized by the tingles. Theo started licking me, grooming my wolf. It was an intimate gesture amongst wolves, something shared between mates. I relished the touch, but it was not the same knowing the human behind the wolf did not want me. I sighed and started running. Theo nipped at my heels playfully. We ran for a few miles, this was not the exercise I wanted, but I loved being this close to my mate. It was so comforting, his presence was the most soothing I could imagine. He slowed and stopped by a stream. I watched his wolf lap up some water, I laid down by the stream. After his wolf was satisfied, he came and laid next to me, putting his big head on me. It was soothing and I could not imagine a more peaceful feeling. I was so relaxed, I fell into a very peaceful sleep.
