she was running with all her might into the unknown dark forest, she looks from her left to her right having no sense of direction and finding it hard to orientate herself. She never has been this deep. Her parents always warned her not to go too far from their homestead. "always stay as close as possible, never to wander off too far" they said. She frantically looks around trying to find a route out of this mess. Suddenly she hears rustling coming from a bush right to her right. Her eyes widen as she wants the scream out but smashes her hands on her mouth. She falls on her knees and cowers in fear not daring to look at what made the noise. She shivers and waits for a while before slowly opening her eyes again. The howling wind doesn't help to calm the little girl's nerves down. Wearing only a one-piece dress just that flows right under her knees. She looks around for some sort of weapon as she stumbles upon light but thick stick. She hurriedly picks it up and stands in front of the bush. Her heartbeat starts to go faster and faster. She takes in a big gulp and firmly holds the stick in both her tiny hands. She presses her eyes shut and waits... after a deadly silence... something appears out of the bush. She wanted to scream but she bit on her bottom lip and swung around violently with her 'weapon'. A small rabbit makes its way out of the bush and hops along its way. She opens up on eye and stares at the little creature. The little girl feels life coming to back her and breaths a sigh of relief. She drops the stick, wipes away the sweat from her forehead, and looks in all directions.

She looks back to the path she came from. Her parents were fighting so hard for her so she could escape from their clutches. The little girl wants nothing more than to head back and feel safe in the arms of her parents.

But she can't. She picks herself back up and rubs the tears from her eyes. Her parents gave everything to let her be. And she knows her parents are strong they surely will come to look for her. Mariel picks herself up and wipes away the incoming tears. She will not be afraid, she will be strong just as her parents were... no as they are. She just starts running off in a random direction in hope of finding a clearing to orientate herself. The forest starts to get denser and denser makes little Mariel reconsider her newborn confidence. Before she can stop to think about anything, having not seen a branch sticking out on the ground she loses her footing and slides down a hillside all the way down.

The little Mariel struggling to get up is hurting all over. She tries to get up but finds it very hard. Her vision is getting blurry and she feels herself getting dizzy. Suddenly she hears footsteps closing in on her. Panicking she starts crawling on her knees and hands. Only one thought to grace her mind. "I have to get away."

" she went this direction, fast we have to find that little devil otherwise the king will have our heads." A man yells out.

She recognizes that voice as one of the assailants. She hurriedly crawls away from the men's incoming voices but she still hasn't recovered from the fall. As the men come closer Mariel's vision grows darker, she stops for a moment to catch her breath when suddenly she hears footsteps coming closer to her, and a shadowy figure emerges. Not being the see well, her sight clouded, she can't make up what that figure is. " there you are!" One of the men yells at her as two more follow him. "finally, the king will pay a hefty price for your head" the other guy says.

"the king?" Mariel thinks to herself before she loses conscious

" Wait! There is someone there?" the third man says looking straight as seeing a shadowy figure nods his head. " Who are you! And state your business."

"My business? Well...." her eyes turn golden and the three men have plunged a large distance landing with a loud thud as they all fell limp.

The mysterious figure walks up to the unconscious girl and picks her up as she looks at the 3 dead men. " I guess we will never know." the figure says smirking and walking away holding the little girl.
