Dan's POV

My alarm clock went off way too early this morning. I pressed snooze and curled back up under my black and grey covers. I didn't want to go to work. I wanted to stay in bed and get payed for sleeping.

"Danny, get up!" Ceily pounded on my bedroom door. "I need you to drive me, I missed the bus." I groaned, flopping the covers off my body.

"Don't call me Danny, for the thousandth time," I yelled back at her. "I'll be right out." I rolled out of bed, only to trip on my own feet and crash face first on my floor. I groaned and sat up, rubbing my nose. Shit, it was bleeding. I rolled my eyes and pushed myself off the floor. Really, this early in the morning and I had already tripped. I stumbled into the bathroom, searching for my straightener. I couldn't find it in its normal place, to the left of my sink. Damn it, Ceily probably took it again.

"Celiy!" I yelled into the hallway. "Where'd you put my straightener?" The bathroom door opened and she stuck her head in.

"You don't have to yell," She rolled her eyes. "It's on my counter." Oh, I didn't see it. I walked over to her side and grabbed it and walked back, plugging it in to heat up. I turned to thank her and but she gasped. "What the hell happened to your face?" I looked at her in confusion and turned to the mirror. I winced at the sight of my face; my nose was slightly bent right and blood was smeared on my right cheek.

"Don't worry," I said, grabbing a washcloth and dampening it. "I must've gotten another nose bleed in my sleep, and I already hit my nose on the floor this morning." I dabbed the washcloth to the dried blood, wincing slightly at the cold water.

"How did you manage that?" Ceily asked, laughing. I rolled my eyes and flipped her off, clear for her to leave. She stuck her tongue out at me and left, closing the bathroom door. I put the washcloth down, as the blood was all washed off. My nose still looked slightly off, but it always did, as well as the rest of my unproportioned face. I rolled my eyes at my thoughts. I was cute, and that was all I needed. I wasn't model, drop dead gorgeous, and that was okay. I grabbed the straightener, about to straighten the first section of my naturally curly hair, but for some reason, I stopped. I looked at myself in the mirror closer, and decided I looked fine with my curly hair. I turned the straightener off and walked back into my room, leaving my hair natural.

Back in my room, I searched the piles on my floor for an outfit for the day. I found some light blue skinny jeans and a black and white striped t-shirt, as I knew it was going to be warm today, but Tesco was going to make me switch out of my t-shirt for the blue Tesco polo shirt and khakis all of its employees have to wear. I slipped on some black socks, and stopped short. Where were my Vans? I looked by my door, where I usually put all my shoes, but they weren't there. I opened my bedroom door to the hallway and walked over to the landing and looked down by the front door. That's where the rest of my family put their shoes. And that's where my white Vans were. Good, I didn't loose them.

I ran down the stairs and grabbed my shoes, slipping them on as I hopped (to keep my balance) into the kitchen. Ceily was sitting at the counter, drinking from her water bottle, texting on her phone. She looked up as I hopped in and stumbled, falling into the counter and hitting my hip on the edge. Damn it, second fall today. Ceily laughed.

"Thank God you got the clumsy genes and I didn't," She smiled at me.

"Yeah, but at least I got the good looking genes," I shot back, fully knowing she was more attractive than me.

"I got the brains," She sassed.

"I got the talent," I said, defeating her. Ceily rolled her eyes, giving into the defeat. She was always jealous that I could play piano and she couldn't, but she got straight A's and I got mostly B's in school. Fair enough, our good and bad genes were evenly spaced. "You ready to go?" I asked, changing the topic. I knew her high school, my old one, had a strict polocy on being tardy. Ceily nodded, standing up. I grabbed my keys and made sure my phone was in my pocket, going through my mental checklist of things I need for work. Car keys, phone, wallet, car, all check. Uniform was at Tesco, as they didn't let any of us bring the polos home. Ceily grabbed her backpack from the bottom of the counter and walked towards the door. Our mom was already at work, because her weird schedule at the nearby hospital. Ceily and I walked into the garage and I pressed the button to open up the three-car door. We walked over to my small blue Civic and I unlocked the car doors and she climbed in, putting her backpack at her feet. I walked around the front and got in the driver's seat. I drove out of the garage and down the driveway.
