A/N: I'm trying to make these chapters longer but I don't know what I'm doing. Also, I just remembered that the British drive on the left side of the road. Sorry if it's confusing, I was confused. I did my best.

Dan's POV

Another boring day at work. I changed out of my Tesco uniform into my normal clothes and waved goodbye to Chris, this guy a few years older than me who works with me. He smiled at me and walked the other way. I walked back to my car, checking my phone. New text from Ceily.

Hey, I feel sick, will you come pick me up? From 20 minutes ago. I pressed the call button and listened to the ring. She picked up a few rings and glumly greeted the phone.

"You alright?" I asked her. I turned the corner into the car lot and started looking for my small car.

"Yeah, it was just period cramps. I thought I had to throw up but it was just cramps," She sighed. Shit, where did I park?

"Gross," I rolled my eyes. I heard her complain about it so much, but it didn't actually bother me that much.

"I'll be okay though," She said into the phone. I heard commotion in the background. "Class is starting. See you after school."

"Do you need me to pick you up?" I asked, spotting my car finally in the back row.

"Nah, I'll take the bus,"

"'Kay. See you later," She murmured a goodbye and hung up. I got to my car and unlocked it, clamoring into the car. I quickly took a really closed up selfie and sent it to her with the caption, feel better kid, with the whale emoji. I didn't use emojis often, but she always did and we always sent the weirdest, most irrelevant emojis to the conversation. I started the car but didn't pull out to see the text Ceily texted back, just a simple thanks with a ghost emoji. I rolled my eyes but smiled. I was glad that we got over our teenage angst years and are actually loving siblings now, most of the time.

I pulled out of my parking space and drove back to my house. It was almost two in the afternoon and I was super hungry. I pulled out my phone from the middle console and quickly called Chris' number. He picked up right away.

"Danny! Hey there," He chirped happily in the phone. I laughed slightly at his insistence to call me Danny, though I've asked him multiple times not to. I turned the corner on the road.

"It's Dan," I rolled my eyes though he couldn't see me. "You want to meet me at the Starbucks on Main and 7th for lunch?"

"Sure!" He said, and I could almost see his smile as he agreed. "Meet you there in 20?"

"See you there," I said and he hung up. Why he was so happy to just have lunch with a friend, I didn't know, but it was kinda cute- Wait what? I shook my head. Not now. I'm not dealing with-

A horn honked at me as I started to take a u-turn to go back to Main Street. I raised my hand to signal a sorry to whoever I cut off and looked out my rear view side mirror. The same tattooed, dark haired boy from this morning flipped me off in his-surprise-black car as I turned away into the other lane. I rolled my eyes. I hadn't seen him a lot before but now I've seen him twice today. There was something about him, something different, that made me want to know him better. Even though his tattoos and attitude kind of scared me, which I assume it was meant to. I shrugged my shoulders and pushed him out of my mind. He was just someone who was probably visiting or something. Didn't matter to me.
