Dance practice was a lot harder than Soumya expected it to be. It seemed as if Ishi wanted the dance to be perfect and even a slight mishap on her part was unacceptable. They had the gist of the dance planned out and choreographed, now they were just practicing. It was a miracle they got all of that done in such little time. All thanks to Ishi and her stubbornness Soumya knew the dance by heart at this point.
But that was just the group performance, which was gonna be done on the song " Mehndi laga ke rakhna " from DDLJ. There were other performances that needed planning and practice. Ishi and Adi had been forced to leave the house to go take care of other wedding planning. That and the fact that they weren't allowed to see each other more than necessary. After they had left everyone started working on the other performances.
Somehow they had convinced Soumya to do a dance number with Veer. But now the two were being civil with each other and arguing less. As promised he hasn't uttered a word about her panic attack which she was grateful for.
After a long two hours of more practice in the ridiculous heat they finally called it a day. It was 3pm so Soumya had a couple hours to relax before the rehearsal dinner. She took a shower and changed out of her sweaty clothes into a pink crop top and white sweatpants before joining everyone downstairs where they all sat and drank lemonade.
Shreya and Vani were lying on the sofa basically half asleep and Veer and Naman were fighting over who gets the last cup of lemonade while Aryan sat and recorded them, laughing. While they argued she sneaked up towards the cup and picked it up, taking a big sip. They both stopped and looked at her as if she had committed a crime.
" I think I deserve it, tum dono ne tho 3 cup pi bhi liye honge. " She said, drinking happily and taking a seat next to the girls. ( You two have probably already drank 3 glasses. )
They grumbled because they knew she was right. It was funny to watch some of the most influential men in the city whine like kids. Or at least Soumya assumed they were influential. She knew they all came from rich families.
The Raichands owned a jewelry line and Adi of course had his family's Hotel chain. She'd found out from Shreya that Naman's family owned a chain of very popular restaurants, some of which were in Adi's hotels. Ishi's family was known for their textile business and shreya's modelling career had taken off as well. She also knew Shivani was a jewelry designer and worked with Aryan in their company but she had no idea what Veer did.
He either worked with his sister or their family had another business. Either way it wasn't her business to know. She herself tried to stay away from their own business. Sure she worked there at a high post, but most of the work was done by Ahaan. The work he gave her could easily be done by an intern as well.
Most of the time she just sat in her office and drew sketches. Ahaan had almost completely sidelined her from the family business after her parents died. The biggest project she'd done in a while was for Mr Ashish Mehra's daughter's wedding. All the outfits had been designed by her. She'd never seen her brother so happy, but soon realized that due to her work the deal had been taken away from the Roy's.
Everywhere she looked the Roys were there, causing a mess in her life. She was starting to think her brother wouldn't even notice if she suddenly disappeared if it meant profit for him. It's not like he called her after she came to delhi. Not even a text asking if she was ok or not. She knew she was being petty, but was it so wrong so expect that from her brother. She didn't think it was.
