Test of Teamwork - Get those Bells!

Third person POV

As they make their way to training grounds, Kiba turns to Y/n, grinning.

Kiba: So... Do you like Ino?

The demon boy scoffs.

Y/n: Don't be preposterous, I simply humored her.

Kiba: Oh, come on! She kept hitting on you!

~ Flashback ~

Ino wraps her arms around Y/n and hugs him tightly, pressing her right cheek against his left.

Ino: See? Warm and cuddly!

The demon boy grew red in the face, from irritation and embarrassment, but he didn't push her away like he originally intended to. Instead he just accepts his fate as a " teddy bear ".

Hinata pipes up.

Hinata: Y-you two look cute together!

This statement makes Ino blush and Y/n immediately push her away. He had been told about this " crush ", " date ", and " girlfriend and boyfriend " nonsense, and he wanted nothing to do with it.

Y/n: And?

Kiba: You should have went for it little buddy!

He goes to ruffle Y/n's hair, but the demon boy grabs his wrist and pulls him backwards.

Y/n: I'm not your buddy. And don't call me little, or I'll snap your neck like a twig!

Kiba laughs nervously.

Kiba: R-right.

As the two get closer to the field, they see Hinata and Shino, who had already gotten there. Along with Kurenai.

Kurenai looked a little annoyed, crossing her arms.

Kurenai: You're five minutes late.

Kiba: Aw, c'mon, it's not that bad.

Y/n responds with his usual " hn ".

After a few minutes, Kurenai decides to inform the team of their " mission ".

Kurenai: See, what you'll be looking to accomplish...

She holds up three silver bells.

Kurenai: Is to take these. Sounds simple, right?

Y/n scoffs.

Y/n: Please, I could take all of them at once.

Kurenai: Oh? Don't get full of yourself. Besides, there's-

Y/n: A catch? Why, of course there is. The catch is only three people can pass this because there are only three bells, rather than four.

Kurenai: Perceptive.

Y/n: I appreciate the compliment... But I would like to get to the fun part; snatching those away from you as quickly as possible.

Kurenai: Okay hotshot, spread out, I'll give you thirty seconds to do so. Now!

Kiba ( and Akamaru ), Shino, and Hinata quickly run into the treeline, presumably to strategize. Y/n however, lazily climbs a nearby tree and lays on a low hanging branch.

Kurenai: Are you dense?

Y/n: No, bored.

Kurenai rolls her eyes and braces herself for any attacks.

She doesn't wait long because Kiba and Akamaru quickly rush in, blindly. Y/n laughs at the boy and his dog as their forced into the ground. They got nowhere near the bells.
