Third person POV
It had been a week since the spar between Y/n and Sasuke, and Hinata was worried for her colleague. Much more than Kiba and Shino, who had both simply concluded that he had fallen ill or was doing something more " important ", though Kiba was thoroughly annoyed by his absence. Since then, they'd completed more missions, but it was odd not having their resident loner with them.
Hinata asked around and eventually, she discovered that Y/n lived just outside of town with Michelle, his adopted mother. She had no idea who Michelle was, but she was sure she was nice.
She walked along the road of the village, then she looked to her left and there it was, Y/n's house. She heard a commotion in the back yard, however, which made her panic so she quickly ran to the back of the house. There, she saw Y/n panting heavily and he glances at her before quickly straightening up.
Hinata: Y-Y/n! Are you okay?!
Y/n wipes a bit of sweat off his cheek.
Y/n: I'm fine.
Hinata: Are you sure? Let me see, please.
Y/n sighs and Hinata gets closer, looking him up and down for any injuries when she notices his right arm covered in bandages.
Hinata: Y-Y/n, your arm...
She gently takes his right arm and uses her Byakugan to check his chakra flow, and she gasps.
Hinata: Y-Y/n, you don't have chakra...!
Y/n: I know, it's like I said. I'm a demon, Hinata. I have demonic energy, not chakra.
Hinata: I... I don't think you're a demon...
Y/n: Hinata, I'm an actual demon... As in, I'm actually not a human.
Hinata blushes in embarrassment and looks down.
Hinata: S-sorry...
Y/n pets her head and smiles softly at her.
Y/n: It's okay. I'm not angry.
Hinata's face grows darker and she nearly faints, but Y/n catches her.
Y/n: Careful, jeez...
He carefully pulls her up and he tightens the bandages on his arm.
Hinata: Y-Y/n, if you're not hurt... Why do you have those bandages on?
Y/n: To protect everyone else.
Hinata's eyes widen a little and she shyly places her hand on Y/n's, who looks up from tightening his bandages, his face reddening slightly.
Y/n: H-Hinata...
Hinata: You look tired... Get some rest.
Y/n: I just slept for three days, I'm good.
Hinata makes an ' o ' with her lips before she gets an idea.
Hinata: We can go out... If you want...
Y/n raises a brow at her.
Y/n: Like... Like a date?
Hinata's face grows crimson red and begins stuttering.
Hinata: I-I mean... I-If you want it to be...
She was afraid Y/n would withdraw again, become more distant than before but he smiled softly at her.
Y/n: I'm hungry.
Hinata: R-really...?!
Y/n nods and offers Hinata his hand.
Y/n: M'lady.
He wore a smirk and his tone was sarcastic, she figured he meant her position as the Hyuga heiress.
She takes his hand and they begin walking back into town, Michelle watched from the roof and smiles ear to ear.
Michelle: He's such a gentleman.
Then, in a blur, she was gone.

After eating, Y/n and Hinata began walking around town, some girls whispering about Hinata being " lucky " and some guys saying the same about Y/n.
Hinata tightens her grip on Y/n's arm and moves closer to him, her chest against his arm.
Hinata: Everyone is staring, Y/n...
Y/n nods and glares at the group of gossiping girls, making them all fall silent.
Y/n: Hinata, why do you care what they think about us going around and spending time together? Is that not the norm for people?
Hinata: Maybe it's you that's so out of place.
Y/n: Oh, yeah? Guess that's fair.
He grins at the Hyuga girl and her heart speeds up, however, their soon cut off at the Hyuga household by her cousin, Neji.
Neji: Weaklings travel in packs, don't they?
Hinata cowers down, but Y/n gently breaks Hinata's grip on him before walking closer to Neji.
Y/n: Hinata is no weakling, Hinata is my friend. And I am certainly no weakling.
Neji: Oh? Would you care to prove that?
Y/n smirks and stands completely still.
Y/n: You first. Hit me.
Neji falters for a second, but does so, quickly striking Y/n, making his head turn to the side.
Hinata: Y/n!
Y/n begins laughing however, and punches Neji back, knocking him into the front door of the household.
Y/n: Pompous loser.
He turns back to Hinata and offers her his hand.
Hinata takes his hand and he escorts her to the front door.
Y/n: I'll see you later, okay?
Hinata nods and opens the door to her home before quickly turning around, pulling Y/n into a hug and kissing his cheek, making the demon blush furiously.
Hinata: I had fun today. Thank you so much for being my friend.
Y/n mumbles under his breath and waves as he walks away.
Y/n: Don't let Neji bother you.
Then, in a blur, he disappears, leaves blowing in the wind after him.
