Third person POV

After the meal at Ichiraku, Y/n and Sasuke go to the training field to spar, like intended. However, they hadn't intended for the others to watch their spar. Sasuke and Y/n both sighed in annoyance as the others insisted on watching, though Sasuke didn't care, Y/n absolutely refused until Hinata asked to watch.

~ Flashback ~

Though Y/n believed that no one was listening to him and Sasuke, Naruto buts in.

Naruto: You two are gonna spar?

This draw the attention of everyone else, and Y/n glares daggers into Naruto, scaring the blonde.

Y/n: Yes, though it's not your concern.

Sakura: What?! I want to watch! I think Sasuke will win, don't you guys?

Shino looks at Kiba, and Kiba looks back before throwing his head back and laughing.

Kiba: What? No way, Y/n would stomp him!

Sakura: How would you know?

Shino: Y/n is... Impressive.

Sakura, deflated, looks to Hinata for help.

Hinata: Wh-what? You want my opinion?

Her face was growing red and she kept nervously glancing at the boy next to her.

Sakura: Hey, were you even paying attention?

She raises a brow before realization dawns on her.

Sakura: You like Y/n!

Hinata: Wh-what?!

Y/n: What?

Y/n had turned from his conversation with Sasuke at the sudden outburst, a light blush dusting his cheeks.

Sakura: Yeah, you keep looking at him the way I look at Sasuke!

Hinata: N-no, I was answering your question...

She looks to Y/n for help and he sighs before glaring at Sakura, shutting her up... But the idea was still dancing on the tip of her tongue.

Hinata: I think Y/n would beat Sasuke... S-sorry Sasuke.

Sasuke: Hn.

Sakura: C'mon, Naruto! You're on my side right?

Naruto: I could beat both of them, dattebayo!

Sakura deadpans and sighs in defeat.

Y/n and Sasuke were silent as they continued eating, though they'd occasionally glance at each other, trying to size the other up.

Naruto, with a mouthful of food, breaks the silence.

Naruto: Ay, fry want you cries won't to height me? ( Hey, why don't you guys want to fight me? )

Sasuke ignores Naruto, but Y/n, now taking things more lightly, responds.

Y/n: Because I was directly challenged by Sasuke, and before you do the same, I'm simply going to assume it's on the pretext that you were " left out ", in which case, I'll decline.

Hinata: That was a lot, Y-Y/n...!

Y/n: Hm? I suppose... And your stuttering is a little better.

Hinata smiles at the demon boy.

Sakura: But I want to watch this, it sounds like it'll be exciting!

Sakura frowns and pouts.

Y/n: No.
