After nearly getting caught by Abuela, y/n and Mirabel take the green slabs into the nursery to look at.
"Whatever Bruno is hiding. This must be the answer!" Mirabel starts placing together the pieces but then Pepa walks in with some clean cloths to put away. "Ah Mirabel it's you! And y/n? What are you two doing?" Pepa looks at us suspiciously.
"Its nothing Pepa. We were just wondering what happened to Bruno" y/n was talking until a cloud formed above Pepa's head.
"We don't talk about Bruno." Pepa started to rain. She seemed really upset about it. That's when Felix walked in.
"We don't talk about Bruno, no, no, no" Pepa started.
"We don't talk about Bruno, but
It was my wedding day" Pepa says again. "(it was our wedding day)" Felix joins in.
"We were getting ready, and there wasn't a cloud in the sky" "(no clouds allowed in the sky)"
"Bruno walks in with a mischievous grin" pepa is telling the story as it appears around y/n and Mirabel. "(thunder!)" Felix shouts as a strike of lightning hits nearby.
"You telling this story or am I?" Pepa shouts to Felix annoyed. "I'm sorry, mi vida, go on" Felix runs his fingers like little walking men up Pepas arm.
"Bruno says, 'It looks like rain (why did he tell us?) In doing so, he floods my brain. (Abuela, get the umbrellas!) Married in a hurricane! (What a joyous day! But anyway)"
"We don't talk about Bruno, no, no, no! We don't talk about Bruno"
Deloris then started,
"Hey, grew to live in fear of Bruno, stuttering or stumbling. I can always hear him sort of muttering and mumbling. I associate him with the sound of falling sand, ch ch ch. It's a heavy lift with a gift so humbling. Always left Abuela and the family fumbling. Grappling with prophecies they couldn't understand. Do you understand?"
Just as Deloris finished her (AMAZING) verse, Camilo grabbed y/n's hand and transformed into Bruno in front of their eyes, it felt as though they were falling in..... love?
"A seven-foot frame, rats along his back! When he calls your name it all fades to black! Yeah, he sees your dreams and feasts on your screams!We don't talk about Bruno, no, no, no! We don't talk about Bruno!"
Then Isabela came in with her part of the song,
He told me that the life of my dreams
Would be promised, and someday be mine. He told me that my power would grow. Like the grapes that thrive on the vine!"
Deloris came back and whispered to y/n,
"He told me that the man of my dreams. Would be just out of reach. Betrothed to another. It's like I hear him, now"
Mirabel then got confronted by Isabela,
"Hey sis, I want not a sound out of you"
"Um, Bruno. Yeah, about that Bruno! I really need to know about Bruno! Gimme the truth and the whole truth, Bruno!"
"Isabella, your boyfriend's here" Camilo gave out a frantic laugh in order to tease Isabela.
"Time for dinner" Everyone said in sync.
At that moment, y/n and Mirabel started putting the pieces together whilst everyone in the family sung their verses around them!
"Not a word about Bruno"
I never should've brought up Bruno!
