i carefully placed everything into the wicker basket, first the containers of fruit, followed by water, and most importantly, a blanket.
"alright hon," i clap my hands together and patted down my skirt, "ready to go?"
"always." violet responded.
it's a very short walk to where i planned out the picnic, in fact just across the road is a plot of land surrounded by trees and a river.
i stepped out the door and began to walk over, violet following just behind, "hurry up!!" i shouted cheekily, and began to pick up my pace. i heard violet yelling something, but i ignored it and kept going.
"HA, i beat you v!" i watch her face carefully as she walks over and begins to help me place the blanket down on the fresh green grass.
"uh love, did you by any chance catch anything i said?" violet asked, she seemed worried about the answer.
i sat down, and softly stated, "no v, i didn't! why?"
"well uhm," she looked flushed, did i do something wrong? she sat down beside me and murmured, "your skirt lifted love."
embarrassment filled me, me and violet weren't official! and kissed once! oh my god.
"i'm so sorry oh my go-" violet hushed me before i could finish my rambles.
"don't be embarrassed! it's okay i just wanted you to know."

we've been talking for hours, we've now watched the sun travel from the tip of the sky, now returning down back to the earth, as the sky shifted into a blend of purples and pinks.
"i've had so much fun lately." violet whispered, so softly i questioned if she meant to share the thought at all.
"i-i have too.."
we looked into each other's eyes, i could gaze forever, violet finally broke the eye contact, and asked "will you be my girlfriend?"
