we fell in love in october
I needed to clear my head, it was too much, she knew just how to annoy me.
"I'm going onto the roof, i need air." Hesitating, i was considering asking her to join.
"I'll follow." she added, well that makes things easier.
I head up towards the roof, i can hear her following behind me. It was a cool night in mid October, the sky was clear, not a cloud to be seen.
I sat down at the very top of the roof, she followed my movements. both of us gazing upon the star, it was, peaceful for once. I was still agitated, so i gave into the craving for nicotine, i could feel my body screaming out for it.
I opened the package, nugging it towards her. She took one and put it to her smooth, soft lips. I lit my cigarette, and passed her the lighter, she copied my previous movements as i took my first drag.
"I'm sorry i'm such a fuck up." I commented, looking back up at the stars. "I know," she let out a shaky breath "I'm sorry for putting so much pressure on you to come out, i know it's not easy, but it hurts listening to you tell people i'm just a friend, y'know?"
I knew she was right, i just couldn't bring myself to tell my parents, and break all of the expectations they had for me. I sighed while turning to her, taking in every beautiful detail. Every beauty mark, acne scar, her freckles, how could i be so lucky to get a girl this wonderful, only to treat her like this.
"You're staring." she stared blankly. I chuckled, continuing my gaze at her, before finally mumbling out "i think, i think i'm in love with you."
She looked surprised, but in a good way, her face slowly grew into relief. "I think I love you too." she stuttered out.
We smiled at each other, before leaning in. I closed my eyes as our we kissed. Her lips were soft, she tased of nicotine and strawberries, but i wouldn't have it any other way.
After a few minutes, we separated. I put my head on her shoulder, putting out my forgotten cigarette, while she took one more puff before doing the same.
As she breathed out the smoke she asked "Will you be my girlfriend?" I smiled, lifting my head off her shoulder then nodding my head then saying "Yes, yes oh my god of course!" She smiled as i put my head back on her shoulder, as she then put hers on top of mine.
