a rainy day could be intepreted in many different ways.

"saving up for a rainy day" hints at how a rainy day takes the form of something that eats into your life, sowing discord, whether it be a well planned out day, outdoor activity, or whatever it is, really. On the other hand, a rainy day could also be a source of comfort for others, the soft pattering of raindrops on tinted windows, like many soft knocks at the door to check up on you on sleepless nights, when no one else is there for you.

however, for you, the rain reminded you of how haunting yet lingering your relationship was, hence the name of your new film was titled "rainy days". for instance, the one day in february when you and ryujin ran in the rain from the ikea back into your mini cooper, because someone was too eager to bring their djungelskog bear she named brioche, and it ended with of course, you being drenched while ryujin was barely wet, as you shielded her from the rain.

but you could not shield your relationship with time, and all the insecurities that came with it.

bringing yourself back to your reality, you were a well to do bohemian, you wrote, directed a little here and there. it's funny really, how life was after your departure for a desired future, you've lost all you wanted, needed, spent time on unecessary, temporary people. truth is, you never really got over ryujin, rather, you werent able to. you've been procrastinating on it.

a end had to follow the beginning, it was a matter of time, but it seemed your love for her could not fathom the concept of time.

you got a scholarship for your dream school, at the cost of your interpersonal relationships back home, so you had to make it worth, right? you became a up and coming director, soon a renowned director, a fucking amazing one at that, but you had lost all your directions in life when you decided to board that plane.

in the corner of your storage room sat a container with "ryu" written sloppily in black ink, from when you were in university, having every article of item you had that belonged to her. sweaters that she thrifted, the beanie she crocheted but was nowhere near done, a toy mic she would use to serenade you, polaroids of you both, and the silly seashells in a glass bottle you both picked on a date.

of course it started to rain after you made that dreaded call to ryujin that day too.

your movie, "rainy days", was planned to release globally in September, and was set to premier in major cities such as New York, Berlin, Paris, Seoul, Singapore, Dubai and many more, anticipated by movie critics globally. You've had your big break years back, so you had the freedom to direct for leisure, not for income. Rainy Days was a narrated ode to appreciation for people around viewers in difficult times, or so, cleverly concealing what you hoped ryujin would see, and what you wanted to express.

Even a massive city can turn into a lego set when you were in the same city as your ex. You were well aware she was thriving in your hometown, a professional in her field, now a journalist just as she's always wanted to become, that you both were bound to meet, but not as soon as you expected.

now at the berlin premiere of your movie, it was bustling with A list celebrities, reporters, and of course, journalists. It was nothing out of the ordinary for you, having been under the limelight for some time now, you were still of course proud to present to the world your production.
