That night, Carol and I hardly spoke. We went to bed without saying a word to each other and I honestly don't know why she's acting like this. She's been acting weird for a few days lately, and I want to know why.
I tried talking to her last night as we were laying in bed, but she told me that she didn't want to talk, so I left it alone and went to sleep as soon as she did.
The next morning, she was up before I was and I woke up around ten. I didn't get up until about thirty minutes later because I was laying there thinking for a while. I've been overthinking about everything for the past week and it's driving me insane.
I walked downstairs and walked into the living and found Carol sitting on the couch watching TV. I slowly sat down next to her and even though I wasn't looking at her, I knew she was staring at me. I looked over at her and sure enough, she was staring at me.
I slightly smiled, "Good morning," she looked back at the TV and didn't say anything else. I sighed, "Carol," she looked over at me and I searched her eyes. "What's wrong?"
She stared at me for a moment, "Nothing," she looked back at the TV and I knew there was something wrong.
She was a terrible liar.
I moved over closer to her, "Babe," she looked at me and I stared into her ocean eyes and instantly got lost. "You can tell me anything that is going through your head," I stared at her as she stared at me.
Without saying anything, she leaned towards me and gently pressed her lips to mine, sending a shock wave throughout my body. I cupped half her face and tried bringing her closer to me.
When we pulled back, we stared into each other's eyes for the longest time, without saying anything, But, that's the thing, we don't have to say anything to each other. All we have to do is look at each other and we both know what we're thinking.
I heard my phone ring from upstairs and I excused myself as I rushed up to the bedroom to answer it.
Genevieve.
"Hello?"
"Hey, you ready?"
I chuckled and looked at the time, "Uh, yeah. Give me about twenty minutes and I'll be ready. You can go ahead and come over,"
"Ok, I'll be there soon," she hung up.
I walked to the closet and started looking for something to wear. If we do find a place, and I get to train today, then I'll need to wear something for me to train in. I took out a tank top and shorts. It was suitable.
I brushed my hair and decided to put it up after. My hair is getting too long and it's irritating me to the extreme. I need to get it cut. I tied my shoes then walked downstairs just in time to hear a knock on the door.
I walked to it and opened it to reveal Genevieve smiling at me. "Hi," I smiled and moved out of the way for her to walk inside. She looked around then back at me, "I love this house,"
I chuckled, "Thanks. Do you want to meet Carol?" her eyes lit up and I chuckled as she nodded. I walked to the living room with her following me, and I saw Carol sitting on the couch. "Hey, babe," she looked over at me and I smiled at her. "This is Genevieve," I motioned towards her and Carol stood up.
She walked over to us and smiled, "Hi," she shook Genevieve's hand and I watched them talk for a minute. As they were talking, I watched Carol as she was talking to her. As I was watching, I couldn't see any signs of jealousy or anything in her eyes. She didn't seem to be hating the idea of meeting my friend, so that was a relief.
"Well, we should get going," Genevieve said as she looked over at me.
"Where are you going?" Carol asked as she was staring at me.
