It took a little while for Vlad to convince that the baby was in fact Patrick's and not the Count's. To say the older vampire was made, would be an understatement. Lucinda didn't really care that he was a werewolf, and made sure to protect him from the Count. At the end of the night, the girl was sad to see the baby go and hoped to see him again.

Vlad was back to being the son and heir, and the favourite child. Although he was still kind of stroppy with Lucinda, which she finally took notice of. The girl apologised a lot, and even gave him a kiss on the cheek, which made them both blush bright red. But at least they were okay again.

A few days later, and everyone was surrounding Ingrid and Lucinda. Every guy in school were paying for tickets for the Valentine's Ball, that was happening the next day at the school. Lucinda was only there to help Ingrid find a date, and she was really hoping that Vlad would ask her.

Vlad and Robin were walking towards the swam of guys, talking about Valentine's day.

"Are you going to ask Lucinda to the ball?" Robin asked. Vlad grew nervous at the thought of asking his best friend to the ball.

"I don't know. She might say no, plus she could already be going with someone else" Vlad said, feeling a tug in his chest at the thought of Lucinda going to the ball with someone that wasn't him.

"Well, you could always make her jealous" Robin suggested, making his friend look at him in confusion.

"What do you mean?" he asked.

"Ask another girl to the ball" the boy simply said.

"You think that wo-" Vlad started to say, but stopped when an unfamiliar girl walked in front of the two.

"Hey" She smiled brightly, making the two boys stop and stare.

Lucinda, who stepped away from the crowd, saw a girl talking to Vlad, who was staring at her. Something in the girl changed, she felt her face go red with anger. She didn't like how he was looking at the new girl. But she shook her head and sighed. Why do you care? You and Vlad aren't together, he can talk to any girl he wants to.

Lucinda sneered at the back of the girl head, and marched into the school building. When it was lunch time, Lucinda sat in her usual spot but the boys hadn't arrived yet. As she sat there eating her lunch, she heard the girl that was talking to Vlad talking loudly.

"I have a feeling that Vlad will ask me to the ball, i mean why wouldn't he" She spoke ignorantly, making Lucinda roll her eyes in annoyance. Although, she couldn't help but feel slightly hurt by her words.

Lucinda was so caught up in her thoughts, that she didn't see a boy walking nervously towards her. The girl felt a tap on her shoulder, making her look up into a pair of deep brown eyes. It was Edmund Benson. Lucinda sits with him in art class, and the two actually got along pretty well.

"Hey, Lucinda. I was uh- i was wondering if you would like to-uh gototheballwithme" he quickly rushed out. Lucinda noticed his pale, freckled face turn pink and it made her smile. Even though he rushed the last part of the sentence, she knew what he said and felt her heart beat faster. Even though she hoped to go with Vlad, she didn't mind the thought of going with Edmund.

"I would love to go to the ball with you" The Godfrey girl said genuinely, feeling her face go slightly red. Edmund grinned, feeling happy that she said yes.

"Great! I mean, cool. I'll see you later, Lucinda" he said, his grin stretching wider. The girl giggled at this, and watched the boy walk away. Lucinda could still feel the blush on her face, and got up from her seat and walked out the cafeteria.
