Dean wakes up, but he feels warmer than usual. He is tangled around an angel, that could be why. But.. But why does it feel so.. wet? Dean removes the blanket he has been sharing with Cas, and gasps at the sight. There is blood. Everywhere. He’s bleeding! Cas doesn’t bleed, he would just heal himself. Dean tries to untangle himself quick and careful, not wanting the angel to wake up from his rest. He isn’t sleeping, Dean knows that. Angels don’t sleep, but that are able to rest deeply. When Cas slowly opens his eyes Dean hurrys up and rushes to the bathroom, locking the door behind him.
“Dean what are you.. DEAN! There is blood, are you okay? Dean!” Dean hears his angelic friend’s worried shouts, but he doesn’t answer. He doesn’t know if he’s okay. He isn’t hurt, or is he? He takes his T-shirt and looks at himself in the mirror. The shirt isn’t bloody, except for small stains. He himself has some blood on his legs, but his panties are soaked in blood. He doesn’t understand.. He doesn’t have any cuts.. Oh. Fuck.
“Dean? If you don’t answer me I will enter.” Cas’s voice is sharp, but worried.
“Uh.. No. Don’t come in.”
“But Dean there is blood, let me heal you! You are hurt.”
“Cas, no don’t…” But it’s already too late. Cas is standing right in from of him. Dean, who isn’t wearing anything else than bloody panties, tries his best not to slap the angel.
“Dean where are you hurt? Tell me, please.” Cas’s eyes searches the hunter’s female body for injuries, but he finds nothing.
“Cas, I’m not hurt. I’m okay, I think, but I’m not hurt. Get out, please.”
“Oh.. But..” Cas gets interrupted, thank God, by the door opening.
“Hey, Dean, guess wha.. DEAN!” Oh great, Sam too. “Why is there blood in your bed? Where are you?” Dean just sighs. He can’t handle all this right now.
“You have to zapp out there and tell him I’m fine. I’m just.. Having some girlproblems. He’ll understand.” Dean almost whispers to Cas. He just stares back in confusion before realization fills his eyes.
“You’re mensturating. Of course. I’m sorry.” Dean just looks away, this is awkward as hell. On top of all this, maybe he is injured after all. His stomach feels like it has gotten a stab or two. Cas zapps out of the room, giving Dean som privacy. From outside he can hear Castiel’s conversation with his younger brother.
“Hello, Sam. Dean is alright. He’s in the bathroom. I was there too,..” Dean lays his head in his hands, why can’t Cas talk like a real person. “..but he told me to come out here to tell you that he is fine.”
“And he can’t come out because..? Wait. You and Dean were in the bathroom? Why?”
“I too was worried about the blood, so I flew in there, but he said that it was nothing to worry about. He informed me that he has 'girlproblems’. He said that you would understand.” Sam just stares at Cas, and then he turns to the bathroom door.
“Dean, are you having a.. Period?”
“Mhm.. I’ going to take a shower. Cas, stay out of here, could you? Just.. Let me take a shower.”
“Sure, yeah.” Sam answers while Cas’s answer is just some sort of a sound, but it sounds like a yes.
The warm water makes all the dried blood go away, but the alonetime in the shower gives Dean time to think. It’s just blood, right? This can’t last for long. Why is it hurting so bad? God this hurts. Can you sit down in a shower? Yes you can, duh. Dean actually sits down in the small shower cabin, and his thoughts fly away ever furthur. All girls go through this, right? If they can, I can. Ugh, nope. I can’t do this. Why does it hurt so much? Isn’t this just supposed to be like.. To show women that they’re not.. Pregnant. I can get pregnant. Dean’s revelation gives him panic. He’s not even a real woman. It’s too much at once, again, and tears start to mix with the water already running down his face. I can’t do this.
