Paige was really lost, she didn't think this was a prank anymore, maybe she had gone crazy, there was no way that this was real.
"Before we continue this, maybe I should introduce everyone to you." Steve said.
"You don't have to, I know all your names already." She said without thinking. Before Steve could ask her another question Thor got up from the chair he was sitting, in the corner of the room, making his way to the girl.
"You're not from here, are you?" He said more to himself than to her or the others. He could sense a strange energy coming from her, but he couldn't put a finger in it, it was like something was buried deep inside of her. "She's not from earth this one, she knows things." He continued, but this time out loud.
"Thor is right, she's not from here, you said you already know our names, how?" Carol asked.
Paige started to think about how she was going to explain to them why she knew them, how to explain to superheroes that they don't really exist and are just character created by someone's mind?
"We do exist in your world, don't we?" Bruce Banner asked. "'Couse you know us. Who are we there?"
Deciding to rip the band-aid she told them.
"Where I'm from, you're all characters from comic books that in the last ten years have been turning into movies." She said.
No one had time to say or do anything before something on Captain Marvel's suit blipped.
"It's about Stark, I'll be back in a few." The superhero said, flying into the sky from the balcony.
"A few what? Hours? Days? Be more specific woman." Rocket yelled to the sky.
"I think she meant seconds, look." Rhodes said, pointing up. There she was, a ball of light, carrying an entire spaceship on her back, descending from the dark sky.
Immediately Steve and Rhodes went outside to see what that was about, the hope that was fading on everyone simply sparked up like fireworks on New Year's. Looking through the window Paige could see Pepper joining the other two, with tears in her eyes, going in the direction of the big ship. From afar the girl saw the door of the spaceship open, and getting out of there a blue woman helping the man, who would be the world savior, walk.
Tony Stark was put in a chair with an IV on his arm putting nutrients into his body, and then was led to the conference room. From the corner of the room Paige saw the exact scene she watched just a few hours earlier on the theater repeat in front of her. The fight between Tony and Steve. Tony screamed and fell to the ground looking ahead, and just before he passed out, he stared at her.
"Who are you?" He asked, closing his eyes.
Inside of Tony's head it was like memories from another person was passing through his mind, scenes about a little girl and a woman, he couldn't put a face on her.
"C'mon Morgan, go get your Daddy, because I'm not going to cook alone." Tony heard the woman say. "Tell him to get out of his cave and that I'm not his maid." From where he was, he could hear little thumps of footsteps on the stairs so he turned around and saw a little girl.
"Daddy, mommy said that she's not your maid and that she wants you in the kitchen." She said jumping on his arms. He found himself automatically responding.
"Oh, she said that?" The little girl nodded her head. "Then let's not make mommy mad." And he went up the stairs, to the kitchen to found the woman by the isle in the center of the room. "So, you're not my maid, hm." He said putting the little girl on the floor and going behind the woman. "Well, that's not what you said that day you were all in black and white in our room." He whispered in her ear.
"Shut up Tony, our daughter is right there for God's sake." She said turning around and slapping his chest, laughing.
And then he woke up.
