“Alice! Frank! Hurry up, they are waiting for us!” My mother shouted at us, as me and my brother wear getting dressed.

“Coming, mum!” I shouted back down.

When we both got down, our parents brought us to have some tea with the Malfoys.

When we got there our parents told us to wait outside while they had a chat.

“Hey. Long time no see.” Scorpius said to me.

“Yeah. It’s nice to see you again.” I replied.

It was a bit awkward since we haven’t really talked since about three years ago.

“Um…” I said, trying to break the awkwardness.

He didn’t reply, he just looked at me for a few minutes.

“Scorp?” I say, breaking the silence.

That was the nickname I used to call him when we were little.

I found it quite funny because his face always goes red whenever I use that name.

But this time he only smiled and kept looking at me, without saying anything.

Now the silence was kind of nice, and it wasn’t as awkward.

After a while we had to leave.

“Bye Scorp. I’ll see you soon.” I said, before I left for the door.

Before I reached the door, he pulled me into a hug and whispered “I love you. Bye, I’ll see you later.”

Then he just left, leaving me to wonder what he meant by ‘love’,

But back then we were pretty young, so he probably didn’t mean it like that…

It was still pretty awkward though, whenever I talked to Scorpius.

“Alice?”

Rose and Scorpious would make a pretty good couple though.

I had a feeling that I didn’t really like that Idea. I didn’t know why I had that feeling so I just ignored it.

“ALICE!” Rose screamed into my ear.

“Wha? What is it?” I replied.

“Do you think Scorpius is going to ask me to the ball?” She repeated, looking a bit annoyed.

“Hmm? What ball?” I asked her, confused.

“Honestly, were you listening at all?” Rose said, irritated.

“Sorry…” I replied, a bit embarrassed.

“Well, they’re having this ball to Honor our parents when they fought in the war.” She said, going back to her normal self.

“Oh… When is this ball?” I asked her.

“Well, it’s going to be held when we’re in our third year. The professor said that we were too young to get a date.” Rose said, rolling her eyes.

“I agree. We are too young.” I say.

“Jeez. Live a little.” One of the other girls says to me.

I really didn’t feel like talking about all this girl stuff. I really wasn’t the type to talk about dresses, make up and boys.

“I’m… Going to go take a short walk… I’ll see you later.” I say as I make my way out.

“Bye.” Rose says as I leave.

It’s almost curfew but I don’t really care.

I make my way to the library, at first I didn’t really know where I was going, but I just followed some older students.

When I got there, there were very few people.

I just grabbed a random book and took a seat at an empty table.

I quite enjoyed the peace and quiet until someone interrupted the silence

“Hey.” A familiar voice greeted me.

I looked up to see that it was Scorpius.

“Oh... Um… Hi…” I replied awkwardly.

I can still remember that moment clearly in my mind.

He sat down next to me and said “About what happened… Last time…”

I put down my book, face going red, trying not to look him in the eye.

“Wh-what about last time…?” I ask

“I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to make things awkward… Can we just go back to how we used to be?” He looked me in the face so that I had to look him in the eye.

His eyes were a light grey, looking at his eyes was quite soothing.

“Sure.” I say, smiling.

He gave me a big smile and we both talked as if we were best friends for a few minutes, until the librarian kicked us out since it was almost curfew.

Before he could leave, I grabbed his hand and said “I’m glad things are back to normal. Good night, Scorp.” I gave him a smile and left.

- Scorpius’ POV –

Ever since we came to Hogwarts I could tell that Alice has been avoiding me.

I shouldn’t have told her that I loved her so soon. I’m so stupid.

I need to stop this. She can’t just avoid me forever.

I still love her, but, I don’t want to break our friendship.

I need to think.

I went out to clear my mind, when I saw Alice going up the stairs.

I follow her as she enters the library.

I stayed outside for about five minutes trying to think of something to say to her.

I should probably just act natural. I wouldn’t want to make things even more awkward.

There she is. She looks so beautiful. The way her hair hangs over her shoulders, her Hazel eyes, her precious pink lips that could drive any boy wild.

When I finally snapped out of it, I noticed that I had already been standing there just staring at her for about ten minutes.

I took a deep breath and approached her. I sat down next to her and said “Hey.”

She looked up at my face for a while before she put the book down and went bright red.

It was really cute.

I probably shouldn’t be thinking that but I can’t help myself.

“Oh…Um…Hi…” She finally replied, still not looking at my face.

“About what happened… Last time…” I started, trying not to make things too awkward.

“Wh-what about last time…?” She asks, face growing even redder

I apologize, hesitating a bit but in the end we go back to how we were before; friends. Just friends.

Not long afterwards the librarian kicked us out for staying too long.

We parted ways, but before I could leave, she grabbed my hand and said “I’m glad things are back to normal. Good night, Scorp.” And then she left.

How does she expect me to get over her when she’s always so cute?

The way she says ‘Scorp’ just drives me crazy.

Doesn’t she know that?

Why does she have to torture me like this.

Why.

I sigh as I melt on to the floor.

This is going to be harder than I thought, not loving her.
