Phil (1st person)

I woke up to Lila, again. "Phil, wake up," she ordered. I yawned and sat up. "Thanks, Lila," I said. She looked confused. "I was having a nightmare," I said. "Oh," she said. "Isn't it a school day?" I asked. "Yeah, it's Thursday," she said. She was already dressed. "Did I oversleep again?" I asked. "No. It's 8:05," she said. I don't have to leave until 9:10 or so. "Oh. That's a bit early for me, but thanks," I said. I don't normally get up until 8:45. Though, Lila gets up at around 7:00, so I guess it's late for her. We awkwardly stared at each other for a moment, then she left. I got dressed in a few minutes, then I went downstairs.

Lila was watching one of those surgery shows. "Lila, can we please watch something else? I haven't eaten yet!" I said. "I got here first," she said. "You've had the Tv for an hour," I said. "It's not my fault you oversleep," she said. "I don't oversleep, you wake up early," I said. "Just eat somewhere else," she said. I sighed. I would've complained to my parents, but my dad was at work, and I knew my mom would agree with Lila. I decided not to eat and just get some of my homework done. I wanted Lila to apologize, or at least change the channel, but she didn't. She ignored me, no matter how many times I cleared my throat. It was around 8:20. I still had 50 minutes or so before I had to go.

"Lila," I said. "What?" she asked. "I'm going to throw up if you don't change the channel," I said. "This episode's almost over. Just wait five more minutes," she said. I waited at the dining room table for it to end. Fifteen minutes later, it was finally over. "Ok, Phil, it's over," she said. "Thank goodness," I said. I went to the couch and got the remote from her. Part of me wanted to watch something she hated to get revenge, but I couldn't think of anything, and I knew she'd just leave and make me feel bad. I realized I didn't have anything I wanted to see, I just didn't want to watch what she wanted.

We ended up just watching Toddler Funtime so we could make fun of it together. We both left at 9:10, and I met with my friends. This year, my school decided to have study hall for the last twenty or so minutes of the day. It's not exactly study hall, since we can do whatever we want. My study hall is in the art room with my art teacher. I have it with Smiley, Phred, Zack, Lauren, Lila, Pico, 5, and Joy. They mix grade levels. Anyway, I got to school and talked to my friends, then I went to art. Nothing excited happened in art. On my way to science, my second period, I had to stop at my locker to get my textbooks and stuff. My locker's in a weird spot.

There's a sort of alleyway of lockers at our school, which turns left at the end. You can't see the left part from the hallway, which means a lot of kids tend to get beat up back there. My lockers right in that spot, so I'm always cautious when I go back there. I got my stuff without any disruption and went to science. At lunch, Joy was talking to 5, and I went near them to hear what they were saying. "...Or I'll tell Alisa you cheated on her," Joy said. "Pff, she wouldn't believe you," 5 said. "We'll see," Joy said, going to Alisa who was sitting near the door. 5 followed behind Joy, staying relatively distanced from her. I did the same.

"Hey, Alisa," Joy said. "Oh, hey Joy! What's up?" Alisa said. 5 started to look a bit nervous. "5 cheated on you," she said. "What?! Where? When? With who? What happened? Did you see him?" Alisa asked, sounding frantic. "Uh... It was yesterday, during study hall. With... Eliza. Yeah, 5 kissed Eliza. You can talk to her yourself, when she gets back," Joy said. I don't know Eliza, but I remember hearing that she'd be out of town for a week. "I... That's fine, I never even liked 5 anyway. I'll just go back to Jay," she said, returning her focus to eating. 5 looked like he was going to have a mental breakdown. Joy went back to 5.

"Yeah, you're right, she didn't believe me," Joy said. 5 whimpered. "Don't feel bad. She said she didn't like you anyway, so it's not my fault. It was only a matter of time before you broke up," Joy said. "...I... I guess..." 5 said. "Why don't you come sit with me," Joy said. 5 didn't say anything, but he followed Joy to a table. Lila came up to me. "Hey Lila," I said. "Did something happen?" Lila asked. "Yeah. Where have you been?" I asked. "I had to use the bathroom," she said. "Oh. Well, 5 broke up with Alisa because of Joy," I said, trying to summarize what had happened. "Hm," Lila said, not seeming to care. "Why do I even talk to you?" I said. Lila glanced at me. "You ask questions, but you never listen to the answers," I said. She didn't say anything. I guess she didn't know how to respond. I wouldn't know what to say, either. "Have you been having those dreams lately?" I asked. "What dreams?" She asked. "Future dreams. Or humanoid dreams," I said. "I think so, but I can't remember them that well," she said. "Oh," I said. I always remember most of what happens in the dreams. As soon as I wake up, I write down everything I can remember, if I hadn't overslept, that is.
