Lauren (1st person)

I woke up in a hospital. I was wearing one of those hospital gowns. Honestly, that made me feel a bit uncomfortable, since it meant someone had changed me. My mom was next to me in a chair. Her eyes were wet, like she'd been crying. I blinked, still a bit confused. I remembered going into a cave, Zack finding a cool rock, and that's it. "L-Lauren?" My mom asked. Her voice was a bit choked. "M-Mom? Why am I here?" I asked. She sighed with relief. My dad came into the room. "Hey honey. Is Lauren awake yet?" He asked. "Yes, she is," my mom said, placing her hand on my bed. My dad let out the same sigh my mom had. I still had no idea what happened. I suddenly became aware of a throbbing pain in my head. I didn't know why I was only just suddenly feeling it. "Are you alright?" My dad asked. "My head hurts..." I said. "Do you remember what happened?" My mom asked. "I was in a cave during a field trip, Zack nudged me... I don't remember anything else," I said. "Okay... Well, you fell off a fifty foot ledge. There was water, but you still hit a rock on the way down. You got a concussion," my dad said. "Oh... What about Zack? Is he okay?" I asked, trying to ignore the increasing pain on the back of my head. "Yep. Somehow, Zack's completely unharmed," my dad said. "Do you feel well enough to go home? They told us we could leave when you woke up, as long as you remembered up until a few hours ago," my mom said. "Yeah..." I said. "Alright, well, why don't you change and we'll get out of here," my dad said, patting my shoulder.

Zack (1st person)

I woke up in my room, on my bed. The last thing I remembered, I was falling. I looked around, and Bryan was pressed against my side, sleeping. He was holding on to me tightly. The coolness of his body was nice. "Bryan?" I said. Bryan yawned, then he looked up at me sleepily. "Zack, you're awake!" He said. "What happened?" I asked. "I dunno. I was here, and mom got a call and she answered it. She told me that you had fallen, and you were knocked out and that she was going to pick you up. You went to the hospital, but they said you weren't hurt, so mom drove you here. She put you in your bed, and she told me to go to bed, but I wanted to stay with you, so I snuck out of bed," Bryan said. I felt fine, other than being tired. "Hm, that's weird. Um... Did mom say anything about Lauren?" I asked. "Nope," Bryan said. "I hope she's alright..." I said. Bryan rested his head on my side and began to drift off again. I wasn't sure if I had to go to school tomorrow. I guess there's not really a reason not to. I wrapped my arm around Bryan and fell asleep pretty quickly. I woke up around eight. Mom didn't tell me not to go to school, so I just got ready and walked with my friends. "Hey, Zack, are you doing alright?" Phil asked. "Yep," I said. "Good," he said. "Hey, what happened exactly? I remember falling, but that's it," I said. "They went into the abyss and dragged you and Lauren out," Pico said. "Is Lauren okay?" I asked. "Well, I don't know about now, but she just looked unconscious when they got her out," Smiley said.
