I felt good about this, but bad at the same time. I guess it's the fact that once I escape I'll never see him again, and the fact he now has a mate, which is a good thing because it means he has someone to love.
Looking back I've done a lot for James, but little does he know he's done more for me.
He brought run and love into my life. He has actually opened my eyes more to everything then what they were already. He even kept me company which I don't get often besides the occasional by passer and kings messengers to bless their lands, along with some elders from random tribes. But still he has opened me up. It's hard to explain something that one has never experienced before. I guess you could say i felt...full. Like something wasn't there before that is now.
"Here we are Jack put on your best act its show time." said James putting away my golden sword in its sheath and giving it to Cindy.
I nodded seeing the large wooden gate ahead. He then took my restraints and got ahead of me looking at me. I stood still looking at the ground.
"What's wrong? Do you not wish to do this? I have another locked away in the shelter we can switch you out with. You don't have to do this for me." he said quietly as he got close to me taking my bound hands into his. I looked up at him filled with sudden rage.
"You will release that person as soon as you can!" I hissed my markings turning red. He quickly nodded. I could detect a little bit of fear in his response.
"Of course as you wish... But that doesn't answer my question. What's wrong?" I calm down seeing the gentleness and concern in his eyes. His dark brown eyes.
"Can I have one more hug before we do this?" I asked quietly. Suddenly I was wrapped around by his arms as he squeezed me tightly. I started to purr as my markings turn blue.
"Your the first person I've actually been around in hundreds of years James... When this is over promise you'll visit me and let me bless your children." I say and he let's go of me nodding.
"Of course and you visit it as well." he says tears in his eyes as his mate smiles and kisses his cheek holding him from behind.
"Yes please do creator." she says and I nod. Then I close my eyes and take a deep breath as my markings turn red and I look at him.
"Show time." he gives my sword to Cindy who wields it as if she had been able to forever. James them tugs on the rope and makes me follow.
Approaching the gate there were loud horns blowing and it opened. I had to do my role perfectly. The Wolvens will be watching and I need to be convincing although I look like their enemy I don't act or speak like one.
The Cative culture tends to be stuck up and believe they are above their canine counterparts and the same thing for the Wolvens. When in reality they are both the same and equally matched.
So I stand straight and pretend I am above them, but with a violent attitude for I am supposed to be extremely deadly.
The gate opens and there is cheering. I see James waving his hands as he keeps a close eye on me. I just pay them no attention as they spit at me and yell when they see me. I study the buildings.
They were made of wood with hay like roofs. Some seemed to be a house on top of another. Some small and some big.
As we got close to the center as I realized it had to be. There was a small platform and a large gong on it supported by two poles. Behind it was the biggest house it had to look of three one top of one another and at the front door stood a large black wolf with three smaller ones behind him. This must be the alpha. James led me to the stage the alpha came as well leaving the kids to go back inside.
