Carriage Ride to the Manor

At the hospital
Continuing right from last chapter...

     As we finally opened the doors to exit the hospital Jett showed up in his wolf form. "There ya are boy. Haven't seen ya since we brought the others to the hospital." Speedwagon scratched between his ears. "Have ya seen Jett, Tino? 'Cause I couldn't find 'im when I was lookin' for 'im in Lord Joestar's room." Guess it's back to calling him Tino for now I thought. Speedwagon turned his attention back to me. "Coulda sworn you said he'd be in there and that he was going back to the manor with you."

     "Guess the bugger went ahead without me." I said giving a knowing look at 'Tino.' "I can still go on ahead with just Tino if you're worried something could've happened to him."

     "Joan. Somethin' is off. What aren't ya telling me? You know I got a nose for this sort of thing." He glared at me so coldly.

     "Okay I'm going to tell you what's going on. The reason I am in a rush is because HE might still be alive. If HE has the mask who knows what HE'LL do with it. Jett's mostly been staying away since last night because he looks like HIM. That's why Jett only visited my room until I woke up and very briefly in George's."

     "Who..?" He looked confused for a moment then, "ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT DI...!"

     I cut him off and just looked at him "We can't let someone like him loose on the world right now. So I need to confirm where his body is or at the very least he doesn't have the mask. I might be the only one that handle what Dio has become at the moment."

     "Now I really have to go with you! After what happened at the manor..." He looked ready to ask more when...

     "Lovers' spat already ya pair of lovebirds?" Thank God for Tattoo in that moment. "Least get the decency tp get a room stead of going at it in front of a hospital full of sick people."

     "Oi shut it ya bugger!" I yelled back. "He's been more worried 'bout the other guy he brought here over me. Seems like I've been replaced."

     "Never liked you're mug anyway!" Tattoo responded.

     "Still can kick your butt! Me and Tino got ta be on the move. So we'll send 'im back with you for now." I retorted.

     "Maybe we'll keep you over 'im then! We can take ya where ya need ta be."

     "Nah. Ya know he's got your back if ya need him. I got some distance to go. Besides most people aren't gonna mess with a wolf. Much less one as big as Tino here." As I was about to turn to Speedwagon.

     "Even with Tino with ya, it's still dangerous 'round these parts with the Ripper on the loose. Ya may have not been my favorite chap as a kid but we had some good memories. He'd probably be one of the only fellas crazy 'nough ta go after that mutt. Even with the two o' ya I'd still be worried. Surprised that one isn't more worried about that."

     "Thanks for reminding me. I haven't been back in England long enough to hear much 'bout it, except in passing. And clearly I haven't had the time to grab a paper. Being in a hospital and all." I motioned back to the hospital. "Guess I'll have to take you guys up on the offer. As long as I'm the one driving."

     Tattoo laughed. "Fancy doctor's job hasn't seemed to change you to much. Lady thinks she can still drive. Might like ya better now too. Steal ya from Speedwagon too."

     "Hey I was closer with her as kids than you were." Lee elbowed him in the ribs. "I got a better chance with her than you do. Always was a better driver than you when we were younger too. Anyway even banged up, your the prettiest thing we've ever seen."
