At the Hospital
In LondonMy head is throbbing and my vision is kind of blurry as I started to awaken. "Young Ms. Joan! You're finally awake my dear! Or should I call you Dr. Jory? Or something else?"
Then I got a sudden hug attack while I was sitting up. "Ease up on the hug Jett. And who..?" I turned to look at the source of the voice that had addressed me when I'd woken. It was George. "What are you doing in here? How are you doing? How long have I been out? And if it hasn't been long why aren't you resting?"
"One question at a time, my dear." George said and coughed slightly. "It's only been just over a day since the incident at the manor. As to what I'm doing in your hospital room, Jett here and the young man Jojo brought home with him managed to get us all to the hospital here in London. Since I've been here resting I'm doing much better. Though I still have a slight cough. The doctors said I'll be good in no time thanks to yours and Jonathan's quick action in the matter. Also I since I was finally able to move around mostly on my own I asked if I could come visit your room. I've only been here half an hour when you just woke up now."
"How is Jonathan's condition? In the fire...he...we..." I was about ready to break down. Thinking it might be all for naught. Except for George's good health that is.
"He's in a bit of a dire state. He still hasn't woken up once since we arrived. His burns are also much worse that yours." George paused. "The doctors say it's likely due to him shielding you from the worst of it. What did I do to deserve such a boy like him, I wonder?"
Relieve washed over me. "He's a good man. I hope he has an amazing rest of his life. May I ask what today's date is though?" I asked. Time was limited as it was.
"I believe it's November 14th or 15th. I've lost a bit of time with everything happening." George said.
"Thank you so much for everything Lord Joestar. I'm sorry if you're paying my medical bills for this room. But I need to get back on my feet as soon as possible." I replied.
"Joan. From what I can tell from your appearance you are family. Even before I saw your hair color. Which means Jett here is family too. I don't know how or why but I..." Jett cut him off.
"Sir Joestar we appreciate your offer, but you've done more than enough for us by putting my sister up in the hospital and allowing me to stay after visiting hours, such as last night. Due to you being good friends with the Director of the hospital." Jett sighed and continued. "We still have things to get done as soon as possible. So..."
"Jett. Stop. I know you're trying to be the 'we don't need nothing type,' but I do need to ask you something George." After a deep breathe I asked, "Is there any way we could see Jonathan? Also what happened to our friend that was with us?"
"Of course you can. After that friend of yours get himself bandaged up here, he was asked to leave the hospital. I do believe he went to Ogre Street, saying something about checking how things were there. As for seeing Jonathan, you may need to gain the trust of the nurse taking care of him. She hasn't left his side since he was admitted, or just let anyone in." George said with a smile. "I've had some trouble getting in myself and I'm the boy's father."
"Sounds like she might have feelings for him. Reminds me of how the lady that helped raise us would treat her husband. They are a lovely couple." I chuckled. Pretty sure I knew who she was, but something needed to be said though. "As for Speedwagon they may have been hesitant to let him stay due to his background." George gave me a look of concern. "Don't worry though, I won't try to break out to see him or anything. I'll rest up until tonight, at the very least. Alright?"
