~PRESENT~

Amelia pushed open the door of the little apartment that she shared with JJ in Outer Banks. As the door creaked open, she took in the state of the apartment, just the way that she had left it a week prior. When she left here a week ago, she had no intentions of being right back here a week later. She never expected JJ to end up on her doorstep. She couldn't believe that he had instantly left the Outer Banks when he found out that she was gone, and flew the entire way to Massachusetts just to get her back. She never thought that she would move away from Massachusetts, and she knew how angry her father was towards her, but she didn't care.

JJ was always an adventure. She never knew what was going to be next with him. That was one of the things that Amelia loved the most, was not knowing. Life with JJ was like a roller coaster. She longed for the ups and downs, for the thrill. Being with JJ was like nothing that she had ever known before. She knew that she was in love with him, but as she opened the front door of her house in Massachusetts to reveal JJ standing before her, that was when her eyes fully opened to the amount of love that she had for that boy.

And now that she had JJ back again, she knew that this time, she couldn't let him escape her again. JJ was it. He was the person that she knew that she needed to spend the rest of her life with. She knew that she was never going to find anyone better than JJ. He loved her in a way that she had never been loved before. Before JJ, she didn't know what true love actually was. He was the best thing that had ever happened to her.

As her eyes scanned around the apartment, she smiled to herself as JJ's arms snaked around her waist, pulling her back into his body as his chin rested upon her shoulder. He gave her a gentle squeeze before planting a small kiss to her cheek. "Welcome home, baby."

Home. She never thought that word would sound so good coming from someone's mouth before. The thought of this being her new home, living here permanently with JJ by her side was the best feeling in the entire world. When they got this apartment, they only got to spend a couple of nights together in it. She was excited to see what life was going to be like living in the Outer Banks in this apartment with JJ. She was more excited than she knew about this new adventure that she was about to have with him.

She was more thankful for JJ than she ever was for anything else.

"I love you." Amelia said, quickly spinning herself around so that she was face to face with JJ. He smirked down at her, and her eyes scanned over his face, taking in how truly handsome he was. She didn't know how she got to be so lucky with a guy like JJ.

He leaned down, pressing his lips to hers. She smiled into the kiss, his soft lips trailing from hers and down her jawline until he reached her neck. Amelia's eyes rolled back as his lips gently kissed against her neck, his tongue swirling circles against her skin. In one quick motion, his arms tightened around her waist, lifting her up against his body, Amelia's legs knowing exactly what to do as they wrapped around his waist. He kicked the door shut with his foot behind them, and carried Amelia around his waist, still moving his lips against hers, as he took them straight into their bedroom and plopped her down on the bed. Amelia giggled slightly as her body was engulfed in the sheets, JJ climbing directly on top of her as soon as she was down on the bed. His hands found her hair, working their way through it as his lips found her neck again.

"I missed you so much."

~ONE YEAR AGO~

The front door pushed open as Amelia slid her small body through, trying her hardest to be quiet. She pulled her phone out and saw that it read 3:43, and she was well aware that her father would ground her for life if he heard her coming home now. He warned her not to come home in the middle of the night again, and she knew how her father could be whenever he meant business.
