Skylar
His words echoed through my head.
My sister's death.
What did he mean by that? Curiousity racked my brain but I pushed it away. I didn't want to push Luke to tell me if he didn't want to.
I just held him while he cried. Soon enough his sobs turned into hiccups. He stayed in my arms until the hiccups had stopped.
"I'm sorry," he whispered, his cheeks turning a light shade of red.
I waved my hand dismissively, "Don't worry about it." He gave a sly smile in return.
My phone buzzed, illuminating the bark of the tree.
My best friend, Calum's contact flashed across the screen. I gave Luke an apoligetic look before answering.
"Hello?"
"Hey Sky! Where are you? The party started like an hour ago," he whined. Crap. I totally forgot about the party tonight.
"I'll be there in like a half an hour. I got caught at work and I still have to stop and get ready," I lied.
"Hurry, it's no fun without you," he complained.
"Oh calm down. I'll be there soon. Is it okay if I bring a friend?" I asked, looking at Luke. He gave me a questioning look. I held up a finger.
"Sure! See you in a little bit. Love you."
"Love you too," I said before hanging up.
"Boyfriend?" Luke asked. I laughed, shaking my head.
"Best friend. I'm late for a party. You're coming with me," I said, extending my hand to him.
"I-I don't know. I'm not really the party type," he shyly admitted.
"Doesn't matter. I'm not either," I lied to make him feel better.
He finally gave in, "Okay."
I smiled and dragged him to my car. He texted his mum on the way to my house.
Once we reached the porch, I unlocked the door, silently thanking God that my parents weren't home.
"I'm going to get ready. Make yourself at home. There's probably stuff in the fridge, I'm not really sure."
He laughed, "Thanks."
I sped up the stairs, changing as fast as I could before applying some makeup and curling my hair.
"Ready?" I asked Luke, putting my black heels on. He looked up, jaw dropping as he took in my black dress.
"You look beautiful," he whispered.
"Thanks," I blushed, pulling him out of his own little world. He finally nodded and followed me out to the car.
We blasted All Time Low the whole way to the party.
As soon as we arrived, Calum pulled me into a hug. My other best friend, Michael, stood close behind. He also pulled me into a hug before noticing luke.
"Who's this?" Calum asked, motioning to the tall blone.
"Guys, this is Luke. Luke, this is Calum and Michael."
