Twenty-One

In the end, Sua was too afraid to face Siyeon as she just sits on the bench where they last sat in.

It was old but the memories felt so new, it made Sua tear up as she remembers every little detail because this was also when Siyeon asked for Sua's permission to court her.

"You come here often?"

Sua hears a familiar voice, her eyes immediately landing on the woman who sits beside her in the distance.

"Y-you"

Sua couldn't help but hug Siyeon tightly, crying heavily on the younger woman's shirt.

The latter hesitated on putting her hands on Sua's back but soon gave in, soothing the older by rubbing her back in a circular motion.

"I thou-"

Siyeon cuts her off with a hum.

"Don't say anything, just hold me and let it out"

Sua felt the weight of the world off her shoulders the moment Siyeon let go of those words. It's the way Siyeon just stayed there with her throughout Sua crying, it made the older woman feel so guilty but with just one word from the latter it feels like it was right.

When Sua finished crying, Siyeon was still hugging Sua and they stayed there for hours until.

"We shouldn't be like this, if the Lee family sees us, they will k-"

Siyeon cuts Sua's worried rambling off by leaning in to the point they could feel each other breathing and Siyeon could hear so clearly the way Sua's breath hitched surprised by what the other did.

"Let them think what they want to think, that this foolish leader loves you"

Sua was speechless, her cheeks flushed as she looked away prompting Siyeon to hold Sua's face, making eye contact once again.

After years, Sua feels as if she was in the clouds once again, her heart beating fast as she leans in capturing Siyeon's lips. The familiarity that makes both of their hearts jump.

Lips moving in sync as both their eyes closed, holding each other's hand with the feeling of bliss overwhelming their other senses and for what only felt like seconds, Siyeon pulled away hugging Sua tightly.

"I won't let you walk away from me again, call me crazy if you want but I would die if I see you in another person's arms"

Sua was surprised at how Siyeon was acting but either way she didn't care anymore. All she cared about was that finally she felt peace in where she is with Siyeon.

"Oh, shut up Siyeon, you won't die. Don't be so dramatic"

Sua gently pats Siyeon's back hearing the younger woman sigh in content. It made the latter smile happily.

Unlike when she was with Dami, the guilt was nowhere to be found. There was only happiness and contentment in the older woman's heart. It was like Sua already won in life after losing countless times.

You and Gahyeon were just in your bedroom lying down with your head laying on her chest and her hand continuously playing with your hair.

"I just wish my sisters can finally let me go, since Day 1 they all stayed beside me. They chose this life for the sake of taking care of me and they won't admit it but I know living separately from me was a huge step and don't get me wrong, I'm really grateful but It felt like I was the one who ruined the potential they could have had in their life. They couldn't live the life they always wanted, they dropped out of college because of me and they sacrificed their humanity at that moment of realization. I realize how much of a monster I was but they never showed it, they were always there even when I was so broken inside especially Yoohyeon"

Gahyeon stayed silent throughout what you said, happy that you were opening up bit by bit.

"Have you had a proper conversation with them before? That doesn't involve business?"

You came into a realization that you haven't had that type of conversation ever since that day your family found out about the news and with you tensing up a bit Gahyeon already knew the answer.

"I'm not forcing you as it is your choice but I think it's time for you to have a conversation sibling to sibling"

You move your body so that you can take a look at Gahyeon. Her gaze shows a lot of things but the strongest one was the fact she genuinely cares.

"How about you? I mean you are the one who told me that we shouldn't be facing our fears when the opportunity is presented to us? Because we don't know when there will ever be an opportunity to face them ever again"

Gahyeon couldn't help but giggle at how you used Gahyeon's words against herself.

"For me it's really different, you're planning to take the Lee family down. They already hate me when I started working for you and I hate them for abandoning me when I needed a family the most"

You nodded your head before finally telling her what you were spacing out for back at your office.

"I decided I won't go through with the plan, the Lee family has always been a long time enemy which was also because of my father and grandparents if I continue what they wanted me to do, I would be the same exact person that he is and I thought I was before but then you came into the picture and I started finding out who I really was and then I came into a realization that I just let it get through my head that I was meant to be a shadow of my father and everything I had trouble with finally made sense when you left. I knew what I wanted and for the first time, I didn't care if my father was alive and he feels disappointed when he sees me"

You chuckle remembering how your nightmares finally stopped after accepting the fact that you were not a replica of your father and you don't have to try so hard to rule the same way as he does.

Feeling tears drop on your face, you look up to see Gahyeon was shedding tears as she wipes them quickly.

"Why are you crying? Did I say something wrong?"

Gahyeon couldn't help but laugh at herself before hugging you tightly.

"I'm just really proud of you"

You felt shivers run down your spine, frozen in your place because it was the first time someone has said those words to you and soon enough you were the one tearing up.
