Getting To Know You

Chapter 11 - final

It was the day of Emily's due date, I practically had all of our family on speed dial if anything happened. But the one person that wasn't on edge was Emily herself, she just wanted it done and over with. Little did she know the day she went into the delivery room to give birth to our kids, I would be giving my delivery to her, a ring. I was very excited that day and all around the whole 3 days of waiting since our kids were just waiting to be checked at the hospital and they were ready to be taken home. The delivery took about 6 hours for both boy & girl to arrive into the world. I was very scared cause I got to hold them both while Emily was getting taken care of for the after effect, I was just bouncing them in my arms and Emily was smiling at me since I was being finally the dad she wanted me to be. But right now the rooms were ready for both kids and Emily was finally restored to herself, it was odd to see her without the bump anymore. Anyways, you are probably wondering how the proposal went, I'll tell you she was very surprised. After the delivery and after she woke up, she saw me on the ground on one knee with a ring. Of course she practically jumped out of her skin whenever she saw the ring and shouted "Yes Beau, yes!". I couldn't believe I had 2 beautiful kids and a soon to be wife. Emily and I waited for 2 years to save up for our wedding and the kids grew up, we got less busy, we found our true friends, we kept old ones too, but most importantly we kept getting closer to each other. Emily I want you to know that getting to know you through these past few years, months, weeks, days, minutes, and seconds I've learned so much about myself.
This is when Beau lifted up his head to hear the claps at his wedding with one kid sitting beside him, and the other hanging on his leg with his newly wife beside him realizing they have came a long way from the not having any idea who they both were. He was crying, and so was Emily. He read the 11 pages to the whole room of their journey and how they got to this moment right here and he stopped and said "I can't wait to continue getting to know you."
