Getting To Know You

Chapter 4

I woke up sweaty from a horrible dream about me and Emily. I called her straight away, it was 9:00AM I figured she'd be up. First call, no answer, second call, no answer.. I'm calling her work now.

"Hello this is Meryl Hospital how may I help you look for a patient room, or anything else?"

"I would like to find Emily Cabell please, I need to have a very important conversation with her, tell her it's Beau."

"Last name please."

"Bennett. Beau Bennett."

"Thank you, Miss Cabell line 2!"

I paced around in my sweatpants and ran my fingers through my hair worried that Emily wouldn't pick up in time.

"Hello? Beau you there?"

Thank god I whispered to myself. "Emily it's me, I-I I'm here. Have you made up your mind yet? I can cancel your flight ticket as late as midnight tonight." I heard her foot steps exit from her desk to another room and a screeching door sound.

"Beau I'm planning on quitting Monday and then flying in on Wednesday, one day after you leave. Is that good?"

"Perfectly fine by me, my mom set up everything, the walls are white, I will paint them when the baby is born. I'll switch your flight right now, I just had to know. Thank you Emily, hope you have a great day at work beautiful."

Oh shit that slipped. I never called Emily a nickname especially beautiful! I heard her gasp and she said "You too cutie." And hanged up the phone. I mean I guess we had feelings for each other but I really never admitted to it. 

I put the charger on my phone and walked out of apartment to go get breakfast alone, I got a cinnamon bun and coffee then exited quickly seeing a stalker fan from Pittsburgh. Then I heard a familiar voice behind me, "Beau Daniel Bennett? Is that you?" I sighed and turned around seeing my younger sister Bailey. "Yes sister. What do you want?" She giggled and directed her hand to the hospital where Emily works and said "Where are you going? The ER to see your girl?" I gave her the shut up or you'll die face and she said "Honestly Beau where are you going?" I responded quickly and said "Coach Dan wants to call me and you know that's five hours long and then I was going to the gym to train for a bit." She sighed and said "Text you later Beau Beau." I hurried home fearing someone else would catch me.

As soon as I got home I called Dan. He answered and said "Beau! How much training have you done? Obviously a lot since you worked on that girl." I rolled my eyes and said "Enough Dan. Her name is Emily. When can I introduce her to the boys?" "Friday would be the best day because we won't do much." "Alright, I'm gonna head to the gym now I'll text her and tell her that. Thank you Dan, see you next week." Click went the phone. I'm nervous about Friday. I'm nervous that the boys will judge me over it or worse the fans will find out. Just lay low I guess.
