Getting To Know You

CHAPTER 3

Emily smiled and looked in my eyes after our first sober kiss, she said "um beau, that was a really sweet kiss." I guess she felt the same way I did about it. We sat down and enjoyed some more general talk, then it turned to our situation.

"So what are the names you want to name the baby if you know?"

"Well if I had a girl I want it to be Zoella, if its a boy I want it to be Brock."

"Cute names Beau, I like em' both."

Awkward silence arose and I said "What a-um- time is it?" Emily checked her Iphone and she replied back "7:30PM exactly." Nice one Beau always in a awkward situation and ask for the time I thought to myself. So I started asking Emily questions.

"Are you excited to go to Pittsburgh with me?"

"Yeah I am, I've never seen another city so this is gonna be cool to see it."

"Your gonna have to come to a practice so I can introduce the guys to you.. they are all good guys and they will have my back for protecting our kid."

Emily giggled and said "That would be fun to meet those guys, a lot of character in one locker room."

I smiled and said "Yeah, Bortz and I are really great friends, we always go out with each other too, but I live in just a small apartment you see it's like this but smaller, and everyday if you come any time I have to stop for the fans, its a tradition that I love because I know someone in that crowd really likes me and really enjoys watching me play, I can always tell who those people are." I saw Emily pounding away furiously at her phone. I dropped my spoon in my bowl that made a really big noise. Emily looked up and said "I'm sorry I was listening but work texted me and is asking to call them, one of the ladies I share shifts with has called out sick cause she's in the ER right now." I just looked back at her in the eyes and said "It's ok, and Emily camp has been moved up which means I have to leave earlier, I leave next week on Tuesday and it's Thursday today. I'm just suggesting to quit work this weekend and you've got the job at Children's hospital." "Beau this is really soon could I just wait for a bit and i'll come later?" I stuttered my words and said "uh-uh-uh em I already bought the plane tickets and I had my mother pick out kid stuff like general stuff. But I guess it's up to you to decide."

Emily placed down her spoon,picked up everything she had in her lap and said "Beau, ill see you around. I'll call you tomorrow with my answer." And out the door she went. I cleaned up everything outside and inside. I changed my clothes and went to bed upset, and over thinking of what I said to Emily before she left.
