Driving back to the boarding house Nathaniel and Elena couldn't help but make small jokes and listen to music as they tried to take their minds off what was to come next. The famous doppelganger couple around town was about to break up, something Nate could hardly fathom was really about to happen. I mean the boy had spent so much of his time in the hospital reading random fanfics and watching his favorite shows, and now here he was in the middle of vampire diaries about to help the two main characters with their break up. Though what had truly worried Nathan wasn't the fact that this brought new and unseen notions but that Stefan wouldn't be able to take it; causing him to flip his switch. Stepping out of the newly parked car Nathaniel was immediately welcomed by the eldest Salvatore brother, who planted a nice and passionate kiss on the boy's lips. Pulling apart the two smiled at each other with so much love in each other's eyes it made Elena both happy for her friend and hopeful she'd find something like that one day with her own soulmates.

Elena stood there watching the two with a sort of shy smile, while she wasn't Damon's biggest fan she did like him more than Katherine, after seeing the true bliss in Nathan's face she couldn't help but feel even happier for him. Nate looked into Damon's eyes unable to feel anything but love and affection, but their moment seemed to quickly fade as Nathan caught sight of Stefan and remembered what was about to happen next. Looking over to Elena he nodded towards the younger Salvatore, which confused both of the brothers as the human doppelganger walked past Stefan with sad yet determined eyes and said "We need to talk" as she made her way to the front door and into the house. Nathan let out a sigh at her tough act knowing she'd likely crumble by the end of everything, and he would probably be too hurt to face her again.

I mean they had loved each other and now she was about to throw all of that away, knowing that while there was someone or two out there for her that Stefan may not be so lucky. It made her feel guilty and sad, but she knew as long as she had her soulmates out there she couldn't just keep stringing Stefan along even with the feelings she still felt for the younger vampire; not knowing those feelings weren't entirely her own. Something Nathaniel knew he'd have to tell them about once they had begun the conversation, though it did make the young witch wonder what would happen to them once they both knew their relationship started out a lie. Shaking away the thought he looked back to Damon with a sad smile saying "I have to help with that" before kissing the vampires cheek and heading over to a confused Stefan as he led them both inside and over to the livingroom where Elena was waiting nervously trying to hide it with fake confidence but Nate could easily see through it. Walking up to the couch both of the boys sat down, Stefan next to Elena while Nathan sat on the chair by the couch nearest to Elena, unknown to everyone except for probably Nathan that Damon was sitting in the kitchen making some food while he eavesdropped.

The female doppelganger sat there on the couch trying to think of what to say or how to start such a conversation while her mind buzzed with thoughts of everything Nathan had shown her in the little time she'd known him. First he gave her his help, second her soulmarks, then he told her of her possibly being a witch, and now he's here trying to help mend a bond she was about to break after just meeting her; even if it has felt like it's been years to the young girl. While she sat there stuck in her mind that rushed around like a runaway train, Stefan couldn't help but watch her worried for her even though he knew what was about to happen. She was going to leave him because she now had her soulmates to look for while he was left on his own; his own soulmate long gone. He'd be alone soon, to be honest he was afraid of that, and though he wanted to hold on to what he had with Elena he couldn't keep her or force her to stay when he knew she'd never be truly happy with him while her real happiness was somewhere out there. And that's why he sat there on his couch in his own home while he waited for his girlfriend to break up with him as he'd sit there and wouldn't even fight back.
