Chapter Eleven

There was no way.  Forgive Dream's language for a second, he's going through a lot right now.  There is no fucking way in this goddamn universe that the woman sitting in front of him was a Dream Stan.

Echo squinted her eyes.  "Are you gonna cry again?"

He just might.

"Are you a Dream Stan?" He decided to say instead.

"A fucking what?"

Oh.

"Uh...a Dream Stan?"

"What the fuck is that?  Is this about that green guy?  I think it's a Minecraft character."  Her face was all scrunched up as she thought.

So she had no real clue who Dream was.  Good.  Okay.  Dream totally didn't just have an unnecessary heart attack.

"Yeah...I'm the green guy..."

"So you're like a youtuber?"

This was suspicious.

"...Yes..."

"Can you pay my bills?"  Her eyes told him that if he didn't agree, he would be found dead.

"Sure."

"Cool."

Wait, we all need to do a collective backtrack.  Why was Dream so scared before?  Why again did he think she was a Dream Stan.

Oh right!  Echo had 100% recognized him.  Hmm...how to go about this...What about blurting it out! Yes!

"Why did you recognize me then?"

Echo raised an eyebrow.  She was doing the freaky-deaky look.  You know the one where she flattens her nose and pushes out her lips.  Maybe Dream had spent too much time on TikTok.

"A certain acquaintance of mine talks a lot about a certain 'Dream.'  They however did not tell me it was you."

Dream feels rather fuzzy despite the fact that he was just sobbing.

Hmm.

Hasan.

He felt his cheeks burn red.  Thank god it was so dark out.

"Are you guys in love?"

That was a strange question.  The answer was of course no, they had only known each other for a couple weeks after all, but Dream found that he could imagine himself falling in love with Hasan.  He wasn't stupid, Hasan would never fall for him, but let him have his little happy imaginary life.

"Disgusting."

Dream snapped out of his trance to find Echo looking at him while gagging.  He had definitely stayed quiet for too long.

"We are not in love," he stated firmly.

"Mmhmm... sure."  Echo did not sound convinced.

"You probably have a gigantic crush on some girl!"  If you didn't know, Dream's know to be the best at changing the direction of a conversation.

"N-no I don't."

"Who is she."

"Fine but it's a man."  Echo stared at Dream's raised eyebrow.  "Balls and everything," she deadpanned.

Dream wheezed.

He understood why Hasan liked her so much.
