Dream was woken up by Sapnap banging on his door.  "Dream!  Hasan told me you weren't answering his DMs and he wants to set up now!" Sapnap yelled.

The blond's mind was foggy as it took a few more seconds to process what Sapnap said before he bolted out of his bed.  "Shit, okay," Dream murmured.

He got up and once again booted up his computer.  In his DMs he found Hasan's Discord information with the request for Dream to join the call early just so that they don't seem like complete strangers.

Dream sent a friend request quickly while on his other monitor he pulled up Hasan's twitch account.  His friend request was accepted and he hovered over the call button.  It seems he didn't have to though as soon he received a call from the man himself.  He still hesitated on joining but soon enough he did.

"I kind of thought you weren't going to join," Hasan called out.  Dream gritted his teeth and grabbed the stress ball once again.

"Yeah, I uh, I wasn't at my computer," he winced, there was no way that lie was believable.  "Let me just grab a water bottle, I'll be right back."

"Take your time, take your time," Hasan replied lazily.

Dream got out of the room as fast as he could, running down the stairs, past the living room where Sapnap was yelling obscene things at a baker on some competition, and to the kitchen.

He grabbed one of the many reusable water bottles from the fridge and just hoped that it was truly water inside.  Dream went back upstairs just as fast, waving at a simple "good luck" thrown by Sapnap before he went back to screaming "OH MY GOD, YOU DUMB FUCK!  THE COOKIES ARE GOING TO BURN!"

Dream laughed before putting his headphones back on and unmuting his mic.  "Alright, I'm back," Dream said.

"Okay," Hasan replied.  "So, I'm going to spend the first couple minutes talking to chat, I might end up getting sidetracked but whatever, then I'll introduce you and we can talk."

Dream nodded his head, saying, "yeah, okay."  Soon, Hasan had gone live and he was talking to his chat.  Dream watched as he laughed along with them at some video someone had sent.

It was rare for Dream, watching someone who wasn't in his circle and didn't play Minecraft.  There was something exhilarating about it, maybe it was Hasan himself.

Soon, Hasan was introducing him.  "Hello!" Dream called out, announcing his presence.

"What's good?" Hasan greeted calmly.

It was three a.m. and Dream had yet to go to sleep.  He couldn't stop his thoughts.  Over and over again he ran his interaction with Hasan through his head.  Hasan was nice.  Unapologetically so, and Dream couldn't take it.  It was unnatural, out of place sitting among the interactions that had ended with him yelling or being forced to say he was straight.

Dream felt uneasy.  He couldn't stop himself.  Hasan must have some sort of game plan, there was no way he was that understanding.  Dream went into that expecting to fight for his life and he was met with a calm man explaining why he was in the wrong.

Dream felt inspired.  He clinged onto the rest of the stream once Hasan had beaconed him off, drowning himself desperately in Hasan talking about politics.  He sighed.

It had taken the streamer looking up what a eugenicist and dialectical materialism was to know that he was so far from Hasan in knowledge about the world around him.  Maybe it was the age difference, more time equals more knowledge, but Dream still found himself furrowing his eyebrows, rereading the definition of dialectical materialism ten times before he could even begin to comprehend what it was.

Dream wished that he knew more.  He wished that he hadn't spent the first nineteen years of his life sheltered with stupid world views.  He wished it hadn't taken Samantha to get him out into the world.  Dream wished he was happy.  Dream wished Hasan was here.

Wait, what? Dream thought, his eyes shooting open.  What did you just think?  He barely knew Hasan after all.  I mean sure, he was nice and maybe Dream was the tiniest bit attracted to him, but that meant nothing.  Dream was a nobody to Hasan.

I need to fucking fall asleep, Dream sighed.  My thoughts are getting all weird and shit.

If he didn't fall asleep and instead stalked Hasan's social media accounts, that was no one's business but his own.

Over the next few weeks, Dream found himself watching Hasan from afar while actively avoiding George.  Even the fans had started to notice Dream's absence.  How he would be talking in Sapnap's stream then when George joined he would make up some stupid excuse before leaving.  Dream went as far as to blurt out that he needed to take Patches for a walk in order to get away from the Brit.  Part of him felt bad for it, but the other part of him wanted nothing more to pretend that George never existed.  The latter was winning.

Dream was far more content with letting an unhealthy crush for Hasan grow and grow.  It's not like they would ever talk again and it kept Dream's mind off of George.  In fact, Dream might go as far as to say that this crush had almost completely eradicated his feelings for George.
