Chapter 2
Jane Mckenzie was desperate. She had somehow managed to find herself in one of those typical situations where she could not find her universal identification card. Or her U.I.C as it was called.
When Jane had received the immense honour from Saturn to be the first human ambassador she had jumped with joy; as an avid lover of space and all extraterrestrial life Jane had been accepting the mission in seconds of hearing her superiors talk about it.
Earth was one of the very last planets that actually achieved the ability to travel the stars freely, thus causing the other far more advanced planets to call Earth a P ranked planet, which basically meant primitive.
Of course Humans' were more than ready to show their many talents and quickly worked on getting their voices heard by the closest planets in the solar system, they had searched through MI5, CIA, NASA and all of the other famous names that would be able to keep space travel a secret but would also be able to be an ambassador and spread the word of peace and education to the rest of the galaxy.
A lot of people did say no to being the only human on each different planet. However there were a brave handful of people that were prepared to make the advancement to space, and among that handful was Jane Florence Mckenzie who was chosen to be the ambassador of Saturn.
She had trained for three years with NASA after that, as well as a few other companies that were not to be named but Jane did feel very confident in what she was doing.
She was already a language analyst for the CIA before she was approached for the position, so she was more than interested in learning the spoken language of other planets and fairly aware of the existence of the Federal Galaxy Alliance that stopped planets from being randomly invaded by aliens.
She was even more interested to learn that the galaxy liked to leave its P and U planets alone to develop by themselves before they were evolved enough to join the Federal Galaxy Alliance. At which point ambassadors were sent out to plead their case to each planet leader and then a full evaluation would take place to redetermine the value of Earth.
It was a massive honour to Jane that she was allowed to have this opportunity. The years of fighting lessons, survival training and etiquette classes were worth it.
However, it all seemed to flow down the drain as Jane continued to search for her U.I.C so that she would be allowed to board the shuttle to Saturn.
She was currently standing on the planet Mars and awaiting her own shuttle so that she could get to Saturn, sadly she was not allowed to board her own shuttle when there was no U.I.C to be shown, and since the species Human was still unheard of Jane was forced to wait in the terminal while she searched fruitlessly for the stupid little bit of plastic that told the aliens who she was.
Michael Heath, the ambassador for Mars, was standing next to Jane and watched as she continued to search; he was a lovely, kind, caring man. The few years that Jane and him had trained together was one that had the pair bonding rather quickly. They had become fast friends upon meeting three years prior.
He was now to stay on Mars for three months before Earth's evaluation and he was certainly not looking forward to leaving Jane all alone when he knew how ditzy she could be at times.
Looking at her now Michael could not help but be amused by the woman as she spun in circles searching fruitlessly through her massive bag that contained all the essentials. There was a clear desperation to her as she worried that the mission could not go underway, but he was calm and cool as a cucumber.
"How can you be so calm Mike?" grunted Jane as she continued to search the same bag for the tenth time. She knew that there was only a certain window of opportunity that was open for her to get to Saturn, and if she did not leave in the next twenty minutes then there would be no human ambassador for Saturn to represent Earth.
