Blackness. Thats all Casey saw. Then it was like she was thrown back in time. She was standing in a dance studio, glass shaddered all around her, a blonde man standing over a girl on the ground, filming her " Why dont you tell Edward how much it hurts, Tell him to avenge you! " the man yelled " NO, EDWARD DON'T! " the girl yelled, then another man came and pushed the blonde away then looking at the girl, still on the ground, picking her up and jumping up to the balcony, but the blonde stopped him, pulling him down, the girl sliding across the floor, hitting her head on the neighboring piller. Casey was in shock of the scene unfolding before her, the blood, glass, but the next moment was what got her, a familiar blonde came into view " Jasper? " Casey whispered as she saw another man come and tore the original blonde apart and burning the pieces.
She woke up with a scream, making her mother run into the room, " Casey, Cas hey, baby, whats wrong? " her mother asked " I don't know, it was like i was, like i was seeing the past almost, I saw Japser there mom, but he looked different " Casey said, looking at her mother, seeing her horrifed face " what? " Casey asked " I- I thought I had more time " her mother said " more time for what mom, your scaring the hell out of me " she exclaimed " Our family, their not human Cas, we have gifts, but the gifts skipped me, so I thought it skipped you too, but you have your grandmothers' gift " Melissa said " your grandmother- she was a witch, some called her the harbinger of chaos " she said
" mom your not making any sense, there is no such thing as magic, thats just in stories" Casey said " baby, i know it all sounds crazy, but its true, here I'll show you " her mother said as she grabbed Casey hand, leading her to the garage, and to a box labled " junk " as Melissa opened the box, Casey saw the books that lay within it, Magic of the Harbinger, Fire Magic, Chaos Magic. She was in shock, it was real, magic was real " what else is there mom " Casey said as her voice trumbled " there are other creatures, werewolfs, vampires, others i dont know " Melissa said.
Needless to say, Casey got no sleep last night, her mind was spinning with the thought of vampires being real, she was in the school parking lot, when a loud crash drew her out of her trance. She got out of her jeep, and looked around to find a car flipped on the road across from the high school, Casey ran to the car as fast as she could to the car, once she got to the car, she saw a little girl no older than nine and what she guessed was her mother, " hey, hey its gonna be okay, im gonna get you out " Casey said to the girl, she looked at the mother, only to find her not breathing, she was gone.
" okay, whats your name? " Casey asked " b-briar " she said, her voice trembling " okay briar, i need you to unbuckle you seatbelt and crawl over to me, can you do that? " Casey asked, the girl nodded and did as she was told, she was able to unbuckle, but the door was jammed shut. " the door wont open! " briar said " shit, its okay " Casey exclaimed as she ran to briars door, trying to pry it open, but it was no use. Casey tried pulling the door again and she felt it move a little but nothing more, then she had an idea. " briar, I need you to back away from the door, okay " Casey said as the girl moved, she tried to use her magic, a purple glow lit from her hands as the glass of the windows shattered. " Briar, okay crawl over to me " Casey said and the girl did what she was told and crawled over to Casey and out of the window, just as the car exploded.
The Cullens, who were watching the whole scene, were amazed, Jasper however was worried, and being held back by Rosaile and Emmett, but managed to bring free of their grip, and running over to the car. Casey picked up Briar and carried her away from the burning car as Jasper ran up to the pair " Casey! " Jasper yelled as he reached the girls, The Boston girl, falling to the ground with briar. Bella Swan ran up to Jasper and the girls, as briar got up from the ground " here come here " Bella said to the girl, who was hesitant to do so and looked back at Casey, who nodded for the girl to go to Bella. " how did you do that " Jasper said as he helped the girl up " I have no idea " Casey said, but she had a feeling that it was only the beginning.
