<< knock at the door >>
Once the Boston girl pulled up into her driveway, the trio walked inside and Casey was still trying to figure out how she was going to take care of Briar. Briar walked over to the couch and instantly fell asleep.
" poor kid " Casey said as Jasper looked at her.
" God if only i was faster getting there " Casey said with tears brimming in her eyes. Jasper walked to the crying girl and hugged her.
" you did everything you could Casey, you saved Briar " Jasper said as he carresed Renlies hair
" But now shes going to live the rest of her life without her mom, she's just a kid, she needs her mother " Casey said sobbing into Jaspers shirt.
Casey wiped away her tears, giving Jasper a small smile and walking over to sleeping Briar, picking her up and walking up to her room, placing the girl on the bed.
" mommy?, mommy where are you " Briar said, stirring in her sleep.
" hey, hey its okay " Casey said, briar opened her eyes only for small tears to fall,
" hey its okay don't cry " Casey said as an idea popped into her head
" Come little children, I'll take thee away Into a land of enchantment. Come little children The time's come to play. Here in my garden of shadows.
Follow sweet children, I'll show thee the way Through all the pain and the sorrows. Weep not poor children, for life is this way Murdering beauty and passions"
Casey sang softly, it was a lullaby her mother used to sing to her when she was little. She used to be afraid of thunderstorms, so Melissa would sing to her daughter to calm her.
Casey finished singing, she looked down to see Briar drifting off to sleep. Jasper stood at the doorway, stunned, she had the most beautiful voice he had ever heard. He was sure she wasn't human, he just didn't know what she could be. She layed the girl down and walked toward the door and closing it.
" you have an amazing voice " Jasper said with a small smile
" thank you, I'm surprised I still remember that song " Casey said with a smile
" hey it's getting late, do you want me to drive you home? " she asked as she noticed the time.
" no, its okay, its not a far walk home " Jasper said sweetly as Casey walked him to the door.
" thank you for having me over, it was a pleasure " Jasper said with a think southern accent
" the pleasure was all mine, Hale " Casey said as she closed the door and walked over to the couch to watch TV for a while.
Casey ended up watching Pretty Little Liars for three hours, when she heard someone knock at her door, she got up and opened the door, only to find no - there. She closed the door and sat back down.
Five minutes later, she heard knocking again, so she got up and opened the door, to find no-one there, but as she was closing the door, she saw a ball of fiery red hair at the edge of the forest, staring at her then started slowing walking toward her house.
Casey didnt know how, but she knew it was not good, so she slammed the door closed and locked it, then looked for her phone, finding it on the counter next to a piece of paper
"my number, incase you ever need it, Jasper "
She dialed the number as fast as she could.
" hello? " She heard Jaspers voice on the other end of the call.
" Jasper!, theres someone at my house! " Casey exclaimed through the phone
" what Casey, what do you mean there someone at your house? " Jasper asked
" I heard knocking at the door so I opened it and saw a girl at the edge of the forest, just standing there, then she started walking toward the house- AHH! " Casey yelled as loud bangs were heard from the back door.
Near where Casey was standing
" Casey, what does she look like?! " Japser asked
" she has red hair, like fire and shes pale, like shes as pale as you " Casey said while tears streamed down her face
" its Victora " Casey heard someone say " Okay Casey, I need you to listen to me, okay, go upstairs to Briar and lock the door and the windows, I'll be there soon " Jasper said, Casey did as she was told, but stopped as she heard the sound that made her stomach drop.
The sound of glass breaking
" Jasper, I think shes in the house" Casey whispered
" You would be correct " a voice said behind her.
