After the boy shinichiro left, the old man decided to teach you a few words in Japanese as usual. As he was explaining a few words, you started zoning out suddenly remembering that specific night which had changed everything. It was all thanks to that night that you had developed insomnia meaning you barely got any sleep. You had started having some strong anxiety and panic attacks every now and then.

Not only that but you had also started despising motorcycle gangs even more. You're just really lucky to have the old man with you to help you go through everything. Weather it was the aggressive/sarcastic way or the soft/caring way, you didn't mind it as long as you had somebody with you.

"Y/n??" You suddenly heard which made you focus on the old man again.

"Y-yes!" You accidentally stuttered after the unexpected call for your name.

The old man could realize how you were zoning out and losing focus so he decided to let you go for the day understanding the reason For your odd behavior.

"I'll let you go for today since I feel a little 'tired' so I'll let you do whatever while I go rest ok?"

His words confused you for a second knowing that he never got tired but then made you realize that he was an old man which gave him a pretty valid reason to leave.

You spent the rest of the day cleaning the place and just revising what you had learnt since you still didn't have enough courage to go out alone yet to kill some time. Just as you finished cleaning, you were called to the back by the old man to speak to you.

"What is it now." you spoke sarcastically

"Well I was about to offer you some taiyaki but I guess you just don't want it..." he said in a fake disappointed manner which made you immediately fix your posture

"Wait you didn't say anything about taiyaki!?" You questioned loudly

"THATS BECAUSE THERE ISNT ANY IDIOT. I wanted to speak to you about something else." He started which immediately made you lose interest.

"You are starting school in two weeks." He quickly said before being interrupted.

"WHAT!? SCHOOL!? WHY!? WHERE?? EXCUSE ME????" You panicked which earned you a smack on the back of your head.

"I said what I said. You cant just stay here all day washing up dishes and having conversations with random customers for the rest of your life." He talked irritatedly.

You took a moment to process what he had said until you said in a soft but still confident tone

"You know I can't speak in Japanese fluently yet and I'm basically a foreigner meaning I won't fit in with the others either."

He looked at your eyes which refused to make eye contact making him know that you were actually being serious at that moment in time

He put his hand on your shoulder and started comforting you by telling you how that's the whole reason for school, to learn.

"And even if you don't know how to speak fluently yet, you can still make friends who will help you. Not everyone cares about where you're from, in fact people may want to be your friend just because you're a foreigner" he continued which you just listened to.

You stood there listening to what he had to say and decided to not turn this into an argument since you would still have to go either way.

"Anyways you should go rest if you wanna go with Shinichiro-Kun tomorrow" he said changing the subject which made you nod and go to sleep. (Well..try to)

You woke up the next day and wore the first thing in front of you: a baggy short sleeved white shirt and black sweatpants. You didn't really care about what you wore however HATED revealing stuff or dresses and skirts. You would always rather loose or baggy pants and shirts/hoodies/sweatshirts. Your parents always scolded you when they saw you wearing stuff like that of course and always told you how girls shouldn't wear "masculine" clothing which you of course didn't understand since the clothes you bought were always in the unisex isle. It's not like you wore mens boxers...maybe you did but that's just because they're comfortable.
