Chapter 6

We had picked Rece up from the hospital and we had just arrived at the house. Slater helped get him out of the car.

"Rece!" Flora came running out of the house and hugged him

He just sat there in his wheelchair staring off at the front door. Jackson was standing by the door just looking at us. I was surprised he wasn't walking up to Rece to greet him seeing as the two of them are best friends. He looked at Rece then walked into the house. 

"Flora let the man get in the house first" Slater laughed

"Oh sorry!" She giggled and stepped back

Slater started pushing the wheelchair forward when Rece turned around and smacked his hands away.

"Woah! What was that for?" Slater laughed

"I can do it myself asshole" he mumbled

Slater and I glanced at each other a little shocked by how harshly he said it.

He turned back around and wheeled himself up to the ramp that Darry had made for Rece while he was in the hospital. He stared at it for a second then went up it and into the house. We followed close behind being very quiet because it was obvious he still didn't want to talk to anyone.

"We got you some stuff Rece, it's mostly snacks but there's a few other things in there as well" Callie said

"Yeah! Jayna and I got you a few hoodies cause I know you like them!" Flora said happily

It was good to see Flora was trying her hardest to lighten up the mood and try to get Rece to talk more to us.

"Here! I hope you like them" Flora handed him the two hoodies we got him

He looked at them for a second then turned his chair and wheeled himself into his room.

"Oh.." she said with a sad face

"Flora I'm sure he liked them he's just dealing with stuff right now" I said

She nodded and set the hoodies down by all the other stuff for him.
