"You said you could control them." Marcus argues, he came down to the lanes to have a word with Silco about what happened at the Square. "I lost six officers. Six!" He stands up but the big man behind him takes a hold of his shoulder and sits him back down.

Silco sits on the couch leaning back with his right arm over the back of the sofa and his legs crossed. (Y/n) was with him, she laid her head on the man's lap reading some of the research papers she stole from the upper city. Silco asked Jinx to figure out how to work the Gemstone a few hours ago and (Y/n) has been clinging to him ever since.

It's true that Jinx and (Y/n) are inseparable but the feline is also really attached to Silco. If she can't follow Jinx she will follow Silco everywhere and will cling to him. Silco didn't really mind it that much, at this point he's used to it.

"They pushed it too far this time. The council's up in arms." The sheriff continues, his leg bouncing at the loss of patience he has. " I can't make this go away for you unless you give me something to work with."

(Y/n) sits up and reaches over at the table and takes a cigar from the box when Silco pets her ear and takes the guillotine, lining it across the tip of the cigar as she hears Marcus. "Arresting her and killing this one will be doing you a favor."

The feline snaps the guillotine, cutting the cigar the second his words left his mouth. The girl snaps her head to him and glares, her pupils in slits and a low scoff reciting in her throat.

"I don't need favors." Silco snapped, gently taking the cigar from (Y/n). "I need you to do your job." He places the cigar in between his lips and (Y/n) opens the lighter with a clink and leans back to lit it up.

Silco pets her ears in thanks and takes a puff. "The Firelights have been a thorn in both our sides. They ambushed my shipment at the Hextgates on the same day as the attack." He explains, (Y/n) shutting off the lighter and placing it on the table. "It seems to me the council has its culprit."

"Oh that's tidy for you." Marcus scoffed, now keeping an eye on (Y/n) who stood up and slowly walked towards him, her hands behind her back. "What if I'm not interested in playing along?"

Silco takes another hit humming at his taunt and sees the men behind him step back when (Y/n) walks behind him, he then looks back at Marcus. "We've accomplished a lot together, Marcus. Sheriff." He pointed at the badge, which (Y/n) quickly snacked away from him.

"Hey!" Marcus stands up again to get her but the bodyguards sit him back down, he sees (Y/n) admiring the badge and wiping it gently on her shirt to get it cleaned.

"And there is more yet to achieve." Silco brings him back from watching the feline and back at him, he leans forward resting his arm on his knee. "I hope you can remain a part of it."

(Y/n)'s ears perked up at a soft whistle and turned to Silco, who called her attention. He gestures to Marcus and the feline takes a bag full of coins from his desk and heads over to Marcus. She drops the bag onto his hand and hands his badge back, turning back around and hitting him purposely with her tail for what he said earlier hearing a groan from him and sits back next to Silco.

"For their families. From an anonymous, concerned citizen." Silco stated. He watches as Marcus glares and growls before getting up and leaving, the bigger bodyguards following him and leaving the other two alone.

"What made you decide to cling to me today?" Silco spoke after a few moments hearing the girl hum softly.

"I just think letting Jinx figure the gemstone alone will be more efficient." She replied.

"Hmm." He turns to see her grooming her tail, something she does when feeling uneasy or unsure about something. "You don't sound that sure about that, Kitten."
